"Brother Zane!" Slem came running towards Zane, who was on the ground, unconscious once again. He didn't care to notice the Saint of Nox who was standing next to Zane. After she caught Zane and landed on the ground, she had removed the
Slem leapt at Zane and checked his body for injuries. Although his internal organs were fine, his body had been damaged from the impact from the fight of the Saints. But first, Slem turned his hand into green slime and treated the slit on his throat.
The Saint of Nox looked at this with a curious gaze. 'Hmm... This child is a rogue seeker too...' Then she crinkled her eyebrows. 'Too bad... I don't think they'll agree to not execute them... And we have all the rouge seekers we need too....'
After Slem, Myron came following from the same route, the Grandmaster on his back. When he saw the Saint, he froze. "The Saint!" He exclaimed.
"Put me down..." The Grandmaster spoke in a groggy voice. Myron carefully let the Grandmaster down on the ground. The Grandmaster faced the Saint of Nox and he put his right hand on his heart. "May the night protect us." Seeing this, Myron followed him too. "May the night protect us!"
The Saint nodded at them. "Do you know about these rogue seekers? Who are they?"
"Yes Saint." The Grandmaster answered. He looked at Zane with a pitiful gaze. "They were helping us track the Saint of Mayhem..."
"Hmm..." The Saint put her hand on her chin. "Really? How did two Initiate Seekers track a Saint?"
The Grandmaster shook his head. "I... don't know." He pointed at Zane. "He was the one who tracked the Saint. He said he used his
Right at this time, other people arrived. The ones who appeared were Thorn and Edana. They also dragged the cuffed Avery with them. Thorn and Edana looked around and saw the injured Grandmaster first.
"Grandmaster! Are you alright!?" Thorn rushed towards the Grandmaster, Edana and Avery behind him.
"Yes, I'm okay.." The Grandmaster replied.
"Commander Thorn, Night Leader Edana." He addressed them professionally. "You stand before the Saint of Nox. Greet her first."
Thorn and Edana widened their eyes and turned around, looking at the Saint of Nox. "May the night protect us!" They shouted in unison. Their eyes shifted towards the ground and they saw Zane lying unconscious.
Edana's face fell. With the Saint of Nox next to Zane, she was now sure of the fate that awaited Zane. Thinking about the promise she made to Valentina, she began feeling guilty. 'I'm sorry Val....'
"Oh! What's this? Another rogue seeker!" A booming voice came from the sky. Everyone moved their gazes towards the voice to find two other Saints descending from the sky with a head and a heart in their hands.
The two Saints landed next to the Saint of Nox. "Haha so you saved him after all. What a waste of energy, he's going to die after all." The Saint of Storm laughed. He turned forward and scanned the people in front of him. After his gaze landed on Avery, he frowned.
"He seems to be one of ours... Why is he in cuffs?" He asked Thorn, as Avery was standing behind him.
"Saint of Storm." Thorn bowed his head. "We have cuffed him because it seems he had been working with the Cult of Mayhem. He also lured the Saint of Mayhem here and killed innocent people of Arcturus."
"What!?" The Saint of Nox frowned and looked towards the Saint of Storm.
"Oh?" The Saint of Storm didn't look at the Saint of Nox but towards Avery and raised his eyebrows. "Is this true?" He questioned Avery.
"Don't act like you didn't know Leord!" The Saint of Nox screamed at the Saint of Storm, but he ignored her.
"Yes!" Avery locked gazes with the Saint of Storm and answered with a smile.
The Saint of Storm, Leord Wright, smiled back and snapped his fingers. Suddenly, Avery's head began to expand, and then exploded into pieces, splattering blood everywhere.
"What a bastard..." Leord Wright mumbled. "It looks like I'll have to personally see some things in the Legion..."
"Leord!" The Saint of Nox screamed at him. "What the hell have you done!" She grabbed his jacket.
"Calm down Adelia..." Leord stared at her hand.
"Calm down!?" Adelia, the Saint of Nox gritted her teeth. "Why did you kill him right now? He should have been interrogated! Are you trying to hide something!? Huh!?"
"Hide something?" Lightning flickered in Leord's eyes. "You should speak carefully woman." He scoffed.
"I just couldn't control myself. I hate seeing roaches like that in my Legion."
"Hah! Couldn't control yourself?" She scoffed. "You killed the only lead we had on why they are targeting the country of Nox. I think you did this deliberately Leord. Are you asking to die?"
"What?" Leord chuckled. "You think you can kill me? Try it." The two stared daggers at each other.
"Enough..." The Saint of Light intervened. "Leord, this time you were in the wrong. Back off and apologize to Adelia." He came in between the two and pulled Leord away.
"Why should I!? She's the one saying absurd stuff that could start a war between countries!" Leord complained.
The Saint of Light stared at him. "Leord. Apologize."
"Hmph. Alright. I am sorry I got rid of that pest. Happy?" Leord crossed his arms and looked away.
Adelia opened her mouth to say something, but the Saint of Light shook his head, stopping her. With a sigh, she accepted the apology.
"Sorry Adelia, but overlook this just for once. Just tell us if there is something we could do to make it up to you for this." The Saint of Light showed an apologetic smile towards the Saint of Nox.
"Thank you Orion." Adelia smiled back. "Anything you say?"
"Yes, we will do anything in our power." The Saint of Light, Orion White, reassured Adelia.
Adelia looked down on the ground towards Zane and Slem. With her mind made up, she looked at Orion and Leord. She moved her hands and blocked the three of them with a barrier, so the others outside couldn't hear what they discussed.
"Let's not execute these rogue seekers." She suggested. "We will keep them in the Wraith Hands."
"What!?" Leord shouted out. "We don't have any use for them do we? Why not just kill them?"
"Yes, Adelia, I'd like to help you but the Wraith Hands is full right now. And we don't need any more rogue seekers, Morwenna can't handle more than 50." Orion White agreed with Leord.
"Is making two spots so hard? Just get rid of two useless rogue seekers." Adelia pointed at Zane and Slem on the ground. "The two will be useful, look." She pointed at Slem. "We can use him to heal injuries, he healed that boy's wound in minutes."
The two looked at Slem for a moment and nodded. "Alright, I agree that one is useful, but what use is the white haired boy?" Leord asked. "Don't tell me you want him for his looks? Hah!"
Adelia frowned, but she ignored him and looked at Orion. "I found out he was the one tracking the Saint of Mayhem all this time." He smiled. "An Initiate Seeker tracked a Saint, imagine how useful he would be yourselves."
The two Saints widened their eyes. "Really? That kid tracked the Saint?"
Adelia nodded her head.
"Hmm... This certainly changes things.." Orion nodded. "Alright, we will take them and enlist them in the Wraith Hands."
"It's too bad they became rogue seekers, but atleast they will be of some use in the hands of the Union." Leord laughed. "Hahaha... A new beginning awaits these kids, they better be thankful we didn't execute them!"
"Alright then. It's settled." Adelia sighed and removed the barrier.
"Astrophel." She called out.
"Yes Saint." The Grandmaster straightened himself.
"Shelter the people in the church or camps for now. The Union will be sending people to rebuild the city."
"As for the villages and towns that were destroyed..." She sighed. "We will see what we can do about that. Also, Are there any more rogue seekers being held in Arcturus?"
"No Saint, they are the only ones." The Grandmaster answered.
"Alright, we will be taking them with us to be executed. Normally the Union would hold a public execution, but due to the situation of the city, we will be executing them in the Union." She smiled. "Just let the people focus on rebuilding."
The Grandmaster nodded bitterly. "Yes Saint."
Saying their piece, the three Saint grabbed Zane, Slem, the head and the heart of the Saint of Mayhem, and flew away from the city.
The knights watched them fly away, each with their own thoughts. They couldn't move their eyes off of them, especially Edana. Rather than watching the Saints, she looked at Zane and Slem in their arms, thinking about Valentina. But her thoughts were interrupted by the Grandmaster.
"Alright then." He looked at his knights. "Let's get to work."
Although they lost a lot in this battle, they had emerged victorious. Together, they would go on to rebuild their city, and they too, would have their own new beginning.
