The light coming out of Zane's body gradually disappeared, like it was never there. *Plop* His body fell down on the table in front of him. Zaros walked over to Zane, a wide smile on his face, his eyes gleaming. "You crazy bastard, you actually did it." He moved his hands towards Zane slowly.
*Bam* Right when Zaros was about to grab Zane, the door slammed open. "Ugh..." Zaros rolled his eyes looking towards the door. It was Alec on the door once again. "So the bastard did it successfully. We were ready to send out our followers to fight if he didn't succeed." He looked at Zane with disgust in his eyes. "Bastard was actually useful huh."
"Is that all you came here to say?" Zaros spoke back. "Why do you hate him anyways, you've never even met him before." He raised his eyebrows.
"I don't know. I just felt disgusted from my heart when I saw him. I wanted to get as far as possible from him, and go towards the master, warm and bright master." Alec's mind began wandering and his face glowed when he talked about the Saint. "Hey..." Zaros called out to him, which brought him back from his daydreaming state.
"Oh, right. Master has asked how long this barrier will last for. He is starting the gifting ceremony for the followers." He got back to the topic.
"Hmm.. According to my calculations, the overloaded essence will keep this barrier up for at least 2 days." Zaros put his hand on his chin.
"Oh?" Alec was surprised. "That's better than I thought. And how durable is it?"
Zaros grinned. "Even legendary relics won't be able to scratch this barrier. It is the
Alec smiled. "Good good. Come to the master's hall if you want to watch the ceremony. After some of our followers become an Intermediate Seeker, we'll have enough power to fight the knights of the Sacred Order they have sent."
"You can go. I won't be coming." Zaros replied coldly. Alec's gaze lingered at him for a moment before he closed the door and went on his way again.
"Tch why did the God of Mayhem even gift someone like that personally... No wonder the master hates him.." Alec muttered on his way back. "Master..." His face turned to that of a smile after he thought about the Saint. "I'm coming!" He fastened his steps to go back to his master's side.
Inside the room, Zane was still unconscious, his drool spilling all over the table from his open mouth. Zaros looked at him, letting out a loud sigh. "Haah..." He picked Zane up and moved towards the couch. Laying Zane on the couch, he sat down on the floor, leaning on the couch. "Haah..." Zaros let out a heavy breath and looked up at the ceiling before closing his eyes.
Quite some time passed since Zane had fell unconscious. He slowly opened his eyes, his head still ringing from the aftereffects. "Ugh..." He got up from the couch and leaned back. "What the hell happened?" He spoke out loud in a groggy voice and looked around the room. "Zaros?" He called out to him when he couldn't find him even after scouring the room.
"Hmm?" Zaros replied from under his legs. "Fucking God!" Zane cried out, startled from his sudden appearance. "What the fuck are you doing down there?" He hissed at Zaros.
"You're finally awake?" Zaros stood up. "How's your body? Feel any changes?"
Zane glared at him for a second before focusing inside his body. "You bastard! What did you do?? The slug is still wriggling inside my fucking stomach!" He stood up from the couch in one swift movement.
"Calm down!" Zaros smacked Zane on his head. "Now that you've fused your
"Uhh... I don't-" Just as Zaros was speaking, the whole church rumbled. *BANG BANG BANG* They could hear loud noises from the outside, while the church was still rumbling.=
"What's happening?" Zane spoke while trying to hold on the couch.
"You stay here. I'm going to find out what's happening." Zaros swiftly opened the door and exited the room, heading towards the church chapel.
---
Zaros ran towards the chapel, reaching it as the same time as the old priest exited from the Saint's hall. "What's happening?" Zaros approached the priest.
"The Sacred Order has used something to attack us!" The priest replied while he went to open the door of the church.
"Impossible..." Zaros widened his eyes. According to what he calculated, he was confident that the barrier would stand strong even against some legendary relics. The priest and Zaros quickly exited the church. When they reached outside, they saw that the top half of their church was gone, the barrier was disintegrating, and the town was in ruins. "This...can't be...." The priest looked around him in despair.
While they were looking around, the Saint came out from inside the church. Dragging his long blood red cloak on the floor, he walked out the front door of the church. His jade white skin glowed upon the touch of lights, while he looked around his ruined town with his amber red eyes, which matched his long hair. Turning towards the church with a calm face, he looked at the missing top half.
"Destroyed....." After looking at his ruined town and church for a moment, his calm face contorted into a fierce one, rage evident on his gaze. He looked inside the church door, where the cult members were now gathering with curious looks on their faces.
He stormed inside the church with fury. "Come my followers. Let's start the ritual. It seems I will have to personally teach these insects who they have messed with." He went inside the hall again, and the cultists followed him.
"Saint!" They cried out in joy. "Show us the path to our God!" The cultists went inside the hall again, making a huge crowd inside. "Yes Saint, you must avenge our town that they have destroyed!" The cultists were screaming.
The Saint walked over to his chair and turned to his followers. His head turned from corner to corner, taking a look at every member that was present in the hall. There were more than 100 people in the hall, more than 40 of them at the level of Initiate Seekers. The rest were followers of the cult, but they were normal humans. Some were crazy enough to follow the cult on their own, others were only there due to their circumstances.
Be it by choice or compulsion, they were all now on the same place, worshiping the same God, chanting the same name. The Saint looked at all of them and smiled from ear to ear. "Let's start then, my dear followers."
