I wake up too early, my hand moving to find the warmth of Quill. His spot is cold and empty, and I sigh as I turn on my lantern.
Quill's presence is much needed; not just for the estate but for my state of being as well.
As I sit up, my maids come in without being called for, one of them humming as the curtains are thrown open.
"Is there something going on?" I asked surprised, as the other two brought in a basin with hot water, my soaps, and such ready.
"Don't you remember my lady? You agreed to take dance lessons." the maid replied, setting up my bath for me.
"Oh, right." I replied, as I dragged myself out of bed, and took off the pins in my hair. The maids curtseyed as they left the room, giving me privacy of getting ready.
Although I had taken lessons in dancing in my younger years, it'd been a while since I put them in good use. And since I had been infatuated with Mason, I'd only ever cared to dance with him.
