At last, she patted the wolf on its back. The wolf lowered its back asking for her to mount. Holding its fur tightly while climbing on its back, the wolf ran wildly. Ceris was frightened at first but later the fear turned into excitement and even whistled. The ride was different from the horses. The wind blowing on her face, the adrenaline from the crazy ride made her heart race faster and a beautiful smile formed on her face.
Crossing along the woods, the wolf brought her to a river. Limping, she sat on its end to clean the herb and treated herself. The wolf stood quietly by her side.
Seeing the dirty patches on the white fur, Ceris splashed water. The wolf took a few steps backwards.
Gloating with the finding, she tried to be ignorant and called the wolf. Slowly but cautiously, the wolf reached her. Later she cleaned its fur and spent the day in the riverside.
For a whole week they were together roaming the woods, hunting and sharing the foods, finding exit ways. She would also check on Ivy every two days. Together they formed a bond and were able to communicate silently, without words.
Many times Ceris tried to persuade, separate, hide from the white wolf but it won't leave her. It was as if it could sense her presence from a distance. Resigning, she made it her companion. Ceris was mostly fascinated with its unchangeable golden eyes.
The wolf hadn't changed into its human form since meeting Ceris. It would snuggle in her embrace in the night. For her it was only a pet, not a teenage boy who turned into a wolf.
If she was familiar with the Moon Kingdom or this world then she would have noticed that the golden eyes and white fur was rare, purest and it could only be the strongest Alpha born in thousands of years.
After a few days, Ceris noticed that the wolf would walk out while she was asleep. At first, she feared that it wouldn't return or get lost but later pacified as it eventually returned back.
In these days, both had travelled far, far and memorised the surroundings but found no exits. One night, when Ceris had woken up in the middle of her sleep, noticed that the wolf was gazing at her intensely. After some minutes, the wolf neared her, touched her forehead with its forehead for a long time and sniffed her and ran out of her view.
Ceris was puzzled with whatever was happening but thinking that it would return back decided to calm her uneasiness. A smell of something unfamiliar caught her nose and the next second, she blanked out.
Unknown to her, the wolf had hid beside a big tree and looked at Ceris until her breath was even and slowly, gracefully walking deep in the forest.
The next day, Ceris noticed the wolf was nowhere to be found after she regained consciousness. She was unable to calm and searched everywhere but had no clue. Hoping it will return back soon, took care of Ivy and stayed near the cave; not moving a single inch, afraid that if she moved away and the wolf wouldn't find her then...
Two days passed by but the wolf didn't return. It was as if the wolf was merely her illusion; not a single howls or growls could be heard. If…only if Eri was awake then she could have communicated with the animals in the woods.
"Whitey…where are you?? You will return back, won't you? Are you safe or not? Please be alright. I hope we will meet again in the future…" Ceris was silently questioning and praying for the wolf's well-being.
She wanted to run madly in search as she was afraid whether the wolf was hurt, attacked by other beasts or captured. Little did she know that the werewolf wouldn't approach anyone easily besides their pack members or their own species. No one was aware why Ceris could even cuddle and remain unharmed.
On the fourth day of the wolf's disappearance, Ivy showed signs of her awakening. A glimpse of a small crease formed in Ivy's forehead couldn't hide from Ceris' eyes. Forgetting her unhappiness, she turned her attention to Ivy.
After the sunset a series of loud cries disrupted the serenity of the forest. The birds flew in panic while the animals ran in different directions.
Ceris was near the stream hunting for food. Hearing the sound, throws whatever has been collected and runs to the direction of the cave.
Inside, Ivy was awake, curled up in the corner with her eyes closed, shaking and mumbling…
"Ahh…ouch…don't hurt me…please leave me…no…ahh…don't come near me…go away…"
Seeing the situation, Ceris rubbed her head in frustration. Why was she the one to take care of others? She was also in mild pain but no one was there to care for her. Her lack of voice made it more difficult these days.
Having no choice, Ceris first lit a fire, turning the cave bright and warm, slowly approaching Ivy and kneeled down. Afraid of Ivy's mental health, she didn't hurry but let Ivy be used to her presence. But, not knowing it was her helper/rescuers in front of her, Ivy picked a stone and threw it towards Ceris. The stone was avoided but Ivy turned violent. She suddenly jumped up and bit Ceris' hand and scratched the arms using her fingers.
