What she was proposing was very alluring for
freedom!!
The main source of Wilder's problems pertaining to this whole inheritance thing was the fact that he would most probably lose his freedom if he were to fail; dying in high heaven would only cost him a few levels, but failing? He would be stuck for a very long time.
But then again, could he really trust his opponent to keep her side of the deal?
"What happens if you fail to receive the inheritance?" Wilder asked with a raised eyebrow.
She spoke with so much confidence, but according to his intelligence, there had not been a true successor in the past hundred years, so why was she so confident?
"If I fail, then I die, so you don't have to worry about that." She spread her hands outward when she said that.
"Oh," Wilder nodded as he brought a cup of wine up to his mouth.
He could tell that she was definitely thinking something.
"Let me think about it," Wilder said before downing a cup of wine.
