The second half started, Dennis and his team scored two goals before the other team scored one and it was dedicated to Valeria again, Shelby couldn't take this anymore and face Valeria.
"Valeria" Shelby called and Valeria turn to her but her attention was on the penalty Dennis is about to play.
"Why are all goals dedicated to you today?" Shelby asked as nice as she could
"Goal" Valeria screamed with the other crowd and this made Shelby angry. The football game ended with Dennis team winning against the other team. Dennis was so happy that he ran to Valeria who was cheering him up and hug her with his sweaty body, Shelby look at them furiously and left with her friends, this attitude didn't go unnoticed by Valeria but she ignored.
"Congratulations Den" Valeria said as they walk to the dressing room
"My lucky charm is here" Dennis said making Valeria blush
"Lucky charm indeed" Valeria said standing outside the dressing room while Dennis goes in with the other boys. Valeria focused on her phone scrolling on instagram when Shelby and her friends come to her.
"Hi Shelby" Valeria greeted the obviously angry girl
"Just one question" Shelby said ignoring her greetings
"Am I dating Dennis?" Valeria asked before them and Shelby nod at the question
"My childhood best friend. That's why we seem so close and he treats me like his baby girl everytime" Valeria replied her question herself. She could see the relief in her face
"I will like to be friends with you" Shelby said holding Valeria's hand
"Do you like him?" Valeria asked hoping the answer will be negative
"I'm not sure yet but he's everyone's crush in school and I don't want his best friend getting hurt from those jealous eyes" Shelby replied pointing at the girls looking at them.
"That's nice" Valeria said hoping Dennis will come and save her from all of them.
"Ria" Dennis called walking up to them
"Any problem?" Dennis asked reading the tensed air
"No problem Dennis, I'm only asking Ria I mean Valeria to be my friend" Shelby said smiling
"That's nice but she needs no other friends if not me" Dennis said holding Valeria's shoulder
"That's cute" Shelby said with anger and left with her friends.
"Why is she always angry?" Valeria asked
"I don't know" Dennis replied looking at Shelby walking away
"Her temper sack is near. Very temperamental" Valeria said still surprised there's someone who gets angry at every word and sentence.
"Leave her, let's go" Dennis said taking Valeria to the school cafteria
"I've not met the girl you said you met at the party the other time" Valeria said bringing up the issue Dennis has been avoiding. She also noticed as they are walking every girl was smiling at him, some were blushing while some were waving at him.
"The girl is...." Dennis said and cut off half way by his friend
"What's up man?" Felix said shaking him
"I'm good man" Dennis replied
"Damn! This girl is beautiful. A new catch?" Felix asked looking at Valeria head to toe
"Stop that flirty look" Dennis said hitting him on the shoulder
"Oh! Finally, someone has a girlfriend" Felix said laughing
"I'm his best friend" Valeria said immediately she noticed Shelby and her friends
"Yes we are best friends" Dennis was forced to say so even if he wanted to let Felix know she's his girl.
"Give me your best friend" Felix said teasingly
"I'm not interested in relationships" Valeria said not liking how Felix is acting
"I will wait for you" Felix said walking away after winking at Valeria
"Jerk" Valeria cursed
"Sorry about that" Dennis said pulling a chair for her to sit
"It's fine. Thank you" Valeria said with a smile and Dennis sit opposite her
"What will you like to have?" Dennis asked giving her the menu, she searched through for a while.
"A toast will be good and maybe orange juice" Valeria said giving him back the menu. He stand up to place the order, few seconds he was back with their meal. Valeria eat the toast without a care in the world.
"Seems you love the toast" Dennis said watching her with love
"Yes Den, it is well garnished" Valeria replied with a mouthful of toast.
"One of the cafteria's best snack" Dennis said standing up to order one more for her. He came back with another toast and orange juice.
"You can eat this too" Dennis said placing it in front of her
"I'm fine with this" Valeria said not wanting to eat more even if she wants more
"I know you want more" Dennis said feeding her as Valeria blush. They could feel different jealous eyes from different angle including Shelby's angry eyes.
"Don't do this here" Valeria said taking the toast from him and he sits to eat his food.
After the lunch, the two went to the school garden to have a conversation before Valeria call her father to pick her up.
"Thank you for the lunch" Valeria said as they sit on the bench in the garden
"See it as a treat for making me win against the other team" Dennis said smiling
"Okay. Why was all the goals dedicated to me today?" Valeria asked remembering Shelby's question
"Did you feel special?" Dennis asked wanting to know before he reply her question
"At first I wasn't because what kind of tradition is that but after the other team goal was dedicated to me, I felt so happy and of course special" Valeria replied smiling
"I did it to make you feel special" Dennis said responding to her question.
"And I indeed felt special" Valeria said blushing. Dennis hold her hand in his smiling at her.
"Ria, thank you for today" Dennis said kissing her hand
"What did I do?" Valeria asked blushing
"You could have refuse to spend the day with me" Dennis replied caressing her hand
"What are best friends for" Valeria said immediately she noticed Shelby hiding behind one of the trees, she gave Dennis a sign to look at her.
"You look beautiful today though" Dennis complimented not minding Shelby
"Thanks Dennis" Valeria said trying not to blush.
"Where will you be staying?" Dennis asked
"Max Pelevsky residential" Valeria replied
"Wow! How many roommates?" Dennis asked
"We are six in the room, they are very nice and friendly" Valeria replied. Shelby knows they've seen her but too shy to come out from her hiding.
"Call your dad to pick you up, I have things to deal with" Dennis said not happy with Shelby. Valeria called her father and left after a friendly hug with Dennis who obviously wanted more.
