Synopsis
Life changes rapidly, people say. Zeke Valerian is a prime example of that. Within the span of moments, he lost his carefree modern family life, and two years down the line it only took three days for him to once again be dragged away from the semblance of normalcy he'd settled in.. It was frustrating. Irritating, even, as he had no real way to object to the powerful man that essentially grabbed him by the wrist and threw him into a pit of dragons.. This story follows Zeke after his world was flipped upside down once again, as he struggles to climb up and stand alongside the walking disasters recruited by a delusional multi-dimensional psychopath..

Chapter 1 - A Sudden Distaste for Trees

Now I know I haven't used this yet, and I know it's been a long couple years.. I'm sorry for that Dad, first off. But now I really need to use this properly. I've been staying with Blackwater, a little group of Military survivors, and just off the way I.. I don't even know what to call it. A man with a sword, who DEFINITELY did not have the build to be flying around like he was- Hell that movement wasn't even human. And he was fighting some.. angel? I don't know how to describe the seven-foot tall woman with wings other than like that. Their battle was literally carving out the ground in great ravines!

Now I know that since The Monolith fell everything has been.. well. Supernatural. I can manipulate dough without even a touch. But that. That was beyond ridiculous. It was beyond human. I don't even think a God could cause that much damage. Wait a moment, people are gathering outside of my bakery. Let me go take a look.

Holy. Shit. He actually came over. After that fight, the angel disappeared and he walked over to Blackwater with a hole carved into his stomach like it was nothing. One of the higher-ups came to greet him, it seems they knew each-other.. What the hell was going on behind the scenes of this place?! That's not even the worst part. I could swear up and down to God that he looked at me. It wasn't even just a glance, but dead in the eyes he sized me up, then just walked off with the higher-up like it hadn't happened.. Today has been too much. I'm going to go to sleep early and think about it properly tomorrow..

Hey again. Sorry for the three-day gap.. But things have been wild. Not far behind Arlo- the man with the sword from yesterday, came a group of others. One wore the armour of a crusader, and called himself the 'Crusader Man', or Crue for short. The next was Alec, a pale man with a katana. He was much quieter than the irritatingly loud Crue. I don't know his second name yet.. Then Conway Pherez. He wears battered riot gear.. and he threatened to beat the shit out of me when I asked him for his name. He seems very angry all the time. Next was some terrifying robot. He was the only one I didn't have the courage to ask the name of.. Then there was Amelia Harriet. She was a small blonde girl, with uhh.. cat-ears. I don't quite know why. Something about a cat-ifying gun? Apparently she's a talented healer Finally, there was Lily Miller. I knew her since she also lived here.. I've always found her annoying though. Arlo just told her to follow him as he had me. To be exact, he said:

"Listen here Bread Boy. Get your ass up off your stool, and stop wasting your time kneading dough. I'm dying here and you're gonna help me. In return, I'll make you powerful enough to not be some pathetic bread-baking twink. Got it?"

I did tell him to fuck off, but I didn't have much choice other than to follow him.

So here I am, now in the middle of a forest, stifling my cries thanks to my now-missing arm. Apparently the group I met just yesterday have been here before- To this "realm" called 'The Intersection'. Hell, all I know for sure is that my arm is now missing, I'm in incredible pain and that the prick with a sword, Arlo, slashed a cut in reality, then Crue thought it'd be fucking hilarious to push me and Amelia in.. Plus, I swear Arlo was halfway though saying how he 'cocked up the coordination, so just hang on', so It's no fucking wonder how my arm ended up fused with a tree. I just know I can't close my eyes.. If I do, I'm screwed. I just have to keep moving.. And I'm gonna beat the shit out of that Crusader asshole when I get the chance. I took off my shirt, and wrapped it crudely yet tightly around the new wound. Hopefully that'd keep me alive..

It's been an hour or so. I finally found some semblance of safety a cabin in the same woods I appeared in. The trip was long. And slow. In the day between meeting them and ending up here, Arlo had taught me some kind of magic.. Literal magic. At most I could produce some sparkles from a circle that I had to draw in the air. That, and talking to myself.. or, the sky as I told myself, was what kept me sane. And awake, probably. I ended up tripping over a wire while scanning the surroundings.. scorched trees and carved dirt. Traces of a great battle.. And yes. I did mean a wire.. or maybe 'cable' is more accurate. It looked so out-of-place. At first I thought it'd be a booby trap, but nothing much happened. So I followed it. What else to do, right?

So imagine my surprise when I was following this cable, that suddenly raised into the air a little and disappeared. Suspended at what looked like a cut-off point.. yet it was behaving as if attached to more cable. I stared at it, dumbfounded, for a while.. before remembering that I was bleeding to death, and so I walked on. Only a couple steps, though, as I phased through some kind of magical barrier. Before me was a cabin. It was old yet sturdy, and I found pretty early on that the door wasn't all too co-operative. I wasn't feeling all too confident in my chances in this brand-new hell, and so took up the opportunity to be cautious. I threw a rock at the door, and some.. magic-circle thingies appeared, before making a shattering sound and disappearing into a brief glow, the old door swinging open next.. I wasn't all-too convinced at the convenience of this, though. One more rock for safe measure.. And I'm glad I did. I watched the rock fly in through the doorway..

And be utterly obliterated.

So, of course, I knew I now needed to be extra-sure of the safety of these doorways. About seven rocks later, I finally felt comfortable entering with an additional ten stored away in my pockets. There seemed to be three rooms, as there was three doors. Going for the left-hand door first, I was reminded of why I had to be careful as a literal fucking bolt of lightning tried to take my already-missing arm off. After pushing the door open, and checking it out with a couple rocks, I finally proceeded inside. It was a dusty and pretty crude workshop. Unfinished devices featuring technology and magic I'd never even imagined before were strewn across the cramped desk. There was this consistent soft buzz too, only broken by the creak of a couple floorboards as I proceeded over to the desk, scanning over the incomprehensible devices.

Well. I decided most of that stuff was outta my field of expertise, and so proceeded to the middle door. To put it briefly, ten obliterated rocks later, I came to the conclusion I wasn't getting through there as easily as I'd entered. As if to wind me up even more, I couldn't even peek in, as some black veil of magic covered the entrance. Onto the right-hand door then.. I found there were no traps here after testing, and entered into a scruffy living space. A bed on the ground, with cushions allowing it to double as a couch. Aside from that, a small table, and some old household items like cups and bowls, it was an eerily barren room. I couldn't imagine living in it for longer than a couple days. I took a cup, and returned to the first room.

After bagging the cup and the unfinished devices, I began to make my way out, rudely interrupted by the floorboards snapping beneath my feet.. I guess these devices were too heavy to take. A quick emptying of the bag later, I looked down to where my foot had fallen through. The soft buzz had become a bit louder now, and below the broke floorboard I'd have sworn I could see something metallic below. Come to find, I was right. I dragged up a metal box with great effort. Within was a watch with a blank face, a small earpiece, and.. some kind of contact lens.

I put them on/in. Not much choice.. When in Rome, do as the Romans do.
