The group headed into the Guild building, under the watchful eyes of many adventurers, who had stopped what they were doing to see what was going on, and why a group of young adventurers and a young feline beast were being escorted by the Guard Captain.
As they enter the building, the eyes observing them continued to increase. Everyone was curious about what would happen, so they observed the Guard Captain walk to the counter and inform the receptionist that he needed to have a meeting with the Guild master. The receptionist was a brown-haired, brown-eyed young woman, probably around 18 years old. She was very cute and gave off a little sister vibe.
When the receptionist heard the guard captain's request she did not ask any questions she just got up and headed for the stairs, to go speak with the guild master, however, she was stopped by a beautiful green-haired elf, who stood about 1.7 cm tall. She was slim but had a toned body, a nice plump ass, and her breasts were average or maybe slightly below average.
She was the first full elf Val had ever seen, and he immediately noticed that her ears were longer, pointier, and more pronounced than his own. She was also one of the most beautiful women he had ever seen. She looked to be in her early 20s but it was impossible for Val to guess her real age, as elves could live for hundreds of years, and aged very slowly.
When the elf stopped the receptionist she spoke,
"It's okay Jane, the Guild Master is waiting for them, I will escort them to his room."
Jane just nodded and headed back to her seat.
Johnny heard this and smiled,
"Hello Vice Guild Master, thank you for coming to get us."
The elf, who was the Vice Guild Master, gave a nod,
"It's no problem Guard Captain, the Guild Master assumed it must be important for you to escort a bunch of greenhorns yourself."
Johnny nodded in confirmation,
"It is, I will explain when we are in the Guild Masters room."
The two finished their chat and headed up the stair, with the 5 young adventurers and little feline following.
The Guild Master's room was on the third floor which was the top floor of the building, the second floor was used for meetings, logistics, guild staff, and other things.
As they were heading to the Guild Masters room, the Vice Guild Master introduced herself,
"I am Lily, Vice Guild Master of the guild in Loka Town, what are your names?"
Though Lizzy and the other 3 had been living in Loka Town and operating out of this guild, they had never interacted with or spoken to the Vice Guild Master or the Guild Master, so they were very nervous.
The four of them introduced themselves, with their names and adventuring rank, which was F for all of them. Val was the last one to introduce himself,
"I am Val, F-Rank, and this is Leo, my familiar."
Lilly was intrigued by Val, there were not a lot of elves in the Wendishka Kingdom, as it was a primarily human country. It was not a racist country that believed in human superiority, but the population was primarily human, and it was not too common to see elves that weren't adventurers or foreign merchants. Lilly was less curious about Leo, Life Talent was far more common in Elves, so the [Tame] skill was also seen more. Lilly wanted to know more and she asked,
"Your silver hair is rare even for elves, where are you from?"
Val looked at Lilly, as the first elf he had ever met, he genuinely wanted to make a good impression on her, so he answer,
"I'm from Vicla Town, and I'm only a half-elf."
When Lilly heard this she raised an eye and immediately responded,
"Little boy, I don't like to be lied to, so I recommend you don't do that again."
Val gulped at her subtle threat, he had not even realized he lied, but when thinking about it, he knew he was not telling her the truth. He thought about if he should be honest and decided that she, as an elf, may already know, so he was honest,
"You are right, I apologize, it slipped my mind because I never knew until recently when I awakened, but I am actually half High Elf. I am really from Vicla Town though, I am an orphan and grew up there from when I was a baby, so I never knew my parents."
Everyone was once again shocked, but Lilly was not surprised. Humans would not be able to tell, but there are specific hair colors that are indicative of specific species of Elves, and sometimes of specific families.
Silver hair is a specific trait of High Elves, and as far as she knows the only family which expresses the blue tinge is the Royal family. Lilly assumed that Val was unaware of this, a well-educated and knowledgeable elf would have some awareness of the traits of the Royal lineage.
This, however, raised many questions in Lilly's mind,
'Was this young boy truly a member of the Royal family?
How could a member of the Royal family be an orphan in a small rundown town on the outskirts of the human Kingdom?
Who could his parents be?
How could a member of Royalty have a child with a human? They are far too proud of their bloodline to give birth to a mixed race child.
Could that be why the boy was abandoned here? So that no one would find him?'
As Lilly's mind was racing with questions, they arrived at the Guild Master's office. Lilly snapped out of her thoughts and knocked on the door.
"Come in."
The group heard an old man's croaky voice tell them to enter.
The group entered the room. The room was fairly large with a large oak desk at the other end of the room. An old man with grey hair and black eyes was sitting at the oak desk with a stack of papers on the right side.
In front of the desk was a set of couches that the Guild master signaled for them to sit on.
The walls of the room were covered with expensive artwork and behind where the Guild Master was sitting was a huge red and brown double-edged battle axe. The blade of the battle axe was red and the handle was brown, it was a very intimidating weapon and looked like it weighed far more than what Val could lift.
The old man stood up with his hands behind his back. When he stood up the young adventurers realized he was very tall, standing at around 2 meters tall. He was human and looked to be about 75 years old. But when he stood up, he was very intimidating.
The guild master stoically observed everyone, then after a brief moment spoke,
"So, explain to me the situation."
None of the young adventurers wanted to speak up so the Guard Captain had to speak first,
"Lizzy, you speak first and explain what happened with Jim and then Val you explain about what happened with Sir Jamal and the bandits."
Val and Lizzy nodded, but Lizzy was visibly nervous.
Lizzy explained what had happened between Jim and Val and the outcome of the altercation, as well as the disbanding of the party. The party had been organized by the guild and Lizzy wanted to explain why they chose to disband the party so that they understood that their choice was valid and they were not disrespecting the guild's decision.
The Guild Master allowed Lizzy to explain, he showed no expression, maintaining his stoic face. When Lizzy finished her story, the Guild Master simply nodded and spoke to Val,
"You made the correct decision and your ability to hold back is commendable. If I had been in your position, I would have probably killed him and saved myself future problems.
Now explain to me your story."
When Val heard the Guild Master's response to what happened with Jim, he wanted to laugh but the Guild Master showed no expression and Val thought it would be inappropriate.
Val brought out the sigil with Jamal's crest on it, brought out the spatial pouch with the corpses in it, and brought out the letter that Jamal had written for the Guild Master.
He then proceeded to explain what happened with the bandits from the time they attacked the camp till when the group returned from the camp with the rescued women, Val left out the part about Larz and the Spatial Skill Orb.
The Guild Master raised his eyebrows but still maintained his stoic expression.
He took a quick look at the sigil, confirming it was Jamal's crest, he then took the letter, opened it, and read it. He confirmed the contents of the letter and then passed it on to Guard Captain Johnny. He then proceeded to observe the contents of the spatial pouch, taking out each corpse one by one and observing them.
He kept the spatial pouch and then said to Val,
"Come and see me in 3 days. I will have to do some investigation to confirm everything. But if it truly is the Sharp Shield Bandits, you can expect a generous reward.
You are new to town I assume, I hope a talented youth like yourself decides to stay here for a while. There are a lot of treasures in the dungeon that could be beneficial to you.
Also, the guild will back you if you have issues with Jim's brother. The two of them had been causing issues for far too long. But Jim has finally been exposed and we can punish him now. But there is no proof of his brother committing any crimes as of yet."
Val nodded and thanked the Guild Master. The group was then escorted out of the Guild Master's office by Lilly, but the Guard Captain stayed behind to discuss something with the Guild Master.
