A week later...
[Yuna's POV]
I lay on my bed while fiddling with the system.

Almost a week has passed since my victory over Kaiba. Things have been relatively quiet. Kaiba has stopped coming to school recently, and when he does come, he ignores me like I'm air.
I assumed he wanted to forget about his humiliating loss. It's okay, I get it. It definitely didn't hurt or anything.
Also, by beating Kaiba, I wondered what had changed. I'm not sure if Kaiba now would see Yugi as a rival since I basically stole the spotlight. But somehow, I felt like I didn't have to worry too much. They have to cross paths one day, you know, with the ancestral history of Duel Monsters and everything?
So, no matter what I do, it should probably be okay.
Anyway, along with Kaiba's defeat, I also gained six hundred credits for my system shops. With that amount, I could only get one rare card or three standard cards.
The Super Rare and Ultra Rare cards were truly expensive, with the Super Rares costing one thousand eight hundred credits while Ultra Rare cost five thousand four hundred credits, which was three times as much as the Super Rares!
Don't even get me started on the Structure Decks, as they cost even more!
One day, Yuna...
Fortunately, the cards I wanted they're relatively cheaper, and I decided to use four hundred of my credits to purchase two common cards. Two of them were monsters while one was a spell, all related to the Felgrand Series.
[Name: Guardian of Felgrand
Type: Monster (Level 4)
Attack: 500
Defence: 500
Description: If this card is Normal or Special Summoned, You can equip 1 Level 7 or 8 Dragon-Type monsters from your hand or Graveyard to this card. This card gains ATK and DEF equal to half the ATK and DEF of the monster equipped to it by this effect. You can Tribute 1 monster and this card, then target 1 Level 7 or 8 Dragon-Type monsters in your Graveyard; Special Summon it.]
[Name: Return of The Dragon Lords
Type: Spell
Description: Target 1 Level 7 or 8 Dragon monster in your GY; Special Summon it. If a Dragon monster(s) you control would be destroyed by battle or card effect, you can banish this card from your GY instead.]
My options were somewhat limited, and these two cards were the best I could get. Thankfully, I still got a lot of extra cards I bought from Grandpa Muto. After being rewarded, I may or may not have been abusing his discount lately.
Well, who wouldn't? It's fine as long we're both happy, right?
Thanks to Grandpa Muto, I was able to get many cards at very cheap prices. They were cards I barely used, but it's best to have them since it would give me alternatives. Also, it's very cheap, so my wallet won't take a dent from the purchases.
*DING DONG*
The doorbell to my house echoed loudly, and I sat up from my bed. Strange, who would come to find me at this time? I don't recall hanging out with anyone.
Perhaps...
I jumped onto my feet and cursed. I sprinted towards the door and swung it open with great force. There it was, an ominous white box resting outside my entrance.
I gulped and hesitantly picked up the package. I went inside and placed it on the table. I nervously pranced around the room while eyeing the box. Oh god, please don't be what I think it was...
I gathered my courage and carefully opened the package. Inside a weird gauntlet, two stars, and a VHS tape.
"Dammit," I muttered and grabbed the VHS tape.
Knowing what awaited me inside this VHS, I didn't really feel like I should play it. Pegasus, that crazy madman.....
Unfortunately, I don't have a grandpa for his soul to get taken in case I lose, so I think it's best if I don't risk it. I approached the bin and held the tape between my fingers.
[Task (2)
Impress Maxillion Pegasus during the shadow duel!
Reward: 3000 credits]
I froze and stared at the display that suddenly appeared. Well... three thousand credits sounds really alluring right now...
Wait, Yuna, this was a shadow game we're talking about! Your life's important!
But with that many credits, just how many good cards can I get???
After debating for an hour, I shrugged and excitedly shoved the VHS into a record player I found in my living room. The device began to play, and a man appeared on the screen. He wore a bright red suit with long white hair covering one side of his face.
"Greetings, my name is Maximillion Pegasus, the President of Industrial Illusions and the creator of Duel Monster!"
"Yuna Sato, I have heard of your recent victory against Seto Kaiba." Pegasus smiled: "You intrigued me."
Um, alright, thank you, but your looks were giving me creepy vibes. Without knowing my inner thoughts, Pegasus continued to speak:
"Your skill interests me so much that I wish to have a duel with you. How about it? We will play for fifteen minutes, and the one with the highest Life Points in that time wins?"
He didn't even wait for me to answer, and my surroundings turned dark. I felt an eerie coldness, and time seemed to freeze in place.
"Welcome to the shadow realm!" Pegasus announced with pride: "Do you know the cards we're using are magical?"
"Hoh? You don't seem to be surprised?" Pegasus chuckled with amusement.
What were you talking about? I'm pretty surprised you know! Can't you see my eyes widening by like three centimetres?
"No matter, let's have some fun, shall we?" He said and drew five cards.
"Wait." I stopped him before our duel: "Can... prepare?"
Pegasus was stopped in his tracks, and he burst into laughter: "Alright, go for it; however, no matter what you do, it won't help!"
Hold on, what does that suppose to mean? I glanced at his amused smile, and I would do anything to wipe the grin right off his face.
I checked through my inventory, and an idea formulated in my mind. Fine, I was going to make a regular deck, but now you really set me off! I will make this duel the most painful one of your life!!
After a few minutes of rebuilding my deck. I took a deep breath: "R...ready..."
"Hmph! Let's begin then..." Pegasus scoffed.
"Duel!" x2

I hope you enjoy it!
