"Come with me," Caleat said, leading her into the forest as the witches started to chase them. The witches didn't look normal, some resembled the morphed witch they'd seen in the building earlier, while others had extended tentacles or roots protruding from their bodies.
"Do you know what's wrong with the witches?" Eve asked the reaper.
"I don't know. It seems like they've undergone some serious modifications," Caleat replied as they wheezed through the first trees. Yes, she could see that, Eve thought to herself as she vaulted over a fallen log in her path.
More branches began to fall, and she had to duck, dodge, or jump to avoid being hit. The leaves scraped against her skin, leaving itchy welts in their wake.
