The ride continued until late evening with Eve sleeping on Sebastian's shoulders. She was awakened by the loud ringing of the castle bells announcing the King's arrival.
"We're home," she muttered and pulled away from Sebastian to draw the windows open. The castle gates were opened and the carriage rode inside with the two knights behind them. They stopped in front of the castle, and the coachman jumped down to open the carriage doors.
Sebastian was the first to step out, his majestic aura quickly enveloping the space, and the maids and knights present quickly bowed.
"Welcome back, King Sebastian," they greeted in unison, and Eve stepped down as well.
"Welcome back, Queen Evelyn," they greeted her as well, with their backs bent as far as they could go in a respectful bow. A red carpet adorned the floor to the entrance of the castle where Leif stood with a grin on his face.
