The next day, Eve was escorted by Ester to a private chamber. This room had belonged to Evilyna and had been locked after her death, with the King ordering everyone to stay away from the floor. Upon reaching the room, the door was opened to reveal a large space painted in a mix of white and brown. A huge bookshelf spanned from one end of the wall to the other, stacked with many books, with a ladder standing beside it.
A reading desk and chair were situated in the room, several books placed on it, and two drawers below it. A large four-poster bed, with white curtains drawn close, was situated on the left side of the room, beside the closet. The room was spotless and clean, with only the old smell of books hinting at it having been locked for years. Eve walked inside, looking around the room that used to be hers.
