Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: What is living?

Another day in Central city, people getting ready to go on with their life, some starting their day and some ending their day after long hours of night shifts.

Most all people are happily living their life which is considered good but still ignores reality.

Many are lucky, born into rich households which can be both a boon and a curse. Boon for those who may never have to work hard can live their life without facing any difficulties and few others, the luckier ones who enjoy their lives without any worries and responsibilities.

Curse, for those who have to face higher expectations from their wealthy parents. Learn things to please their parents and society, learn how to manipulate others for gains and avoid getting manipulated by others, sometimes even by the one close to them.

In similar cases with middle-class people, their parents have high expectations since they don't want their children to be mediocre like them. Constant pressure from families to become better and be better so they can live their life without any difficulties.

Struggling to become better at the same time the competition in the real world for these people makes them choke and break, but they still grab hold tightly and don't back down since they have responsibilities.

And finally comes the lower class, where most have lost hope for a good life and just want to survive daily.

There are exceptions of course, those who have a fire burning inside them(metaphorically), they want to prove themselves to the world, these people either get crushed to dust in society and those who survive become top members in their respective fields due to their hard work and unrelenting will.

And me, I am the former, a low-class person, living… no trying to survive till the day I will die. I don't have any ambitions, needs, hobbies, likes or dislikes. I eat what I get, wear what I have, and sleep in my rented one-room house which is maybe a century old, not sure never asked the owner how old the building is.

The building I live in is a 4 floored one, here we count the bottom floor as the ground floor so for those who count the bottom floor as 1st, it is a five-floor building, and my room is on the top floor. The ceiling is poor and the water drains down the walls when it rains.

No more family, no friends, no social life, just wake up-eat-work-sleep and repeat, that's my life.

The only other thing that I do other than that is to have some kind of entertainment that helps me pass time. Movies, series, anime, blogs, science heck even cartoons are entertainment to me. Anything that can help pass my free time and keep me occupied and away from my nonsensical thoughts is welcome.

Generally for people entertainment is something they experience in their spare time after getting their work done. If you ask me, It has become one of the important things in life since we got peace. Well even in wartime the soldiers got the entertainment to keep their morale high and not fall into insanity.

For me it is just a time pass, to pass the free time that I have between my pitiful daily schedule if you can call it that

Oh, among the rant, I forgot to introduce myself,

I am Aiden Smith, a 23-year-old male and a software engineer at an MNC. Yes, you heard right, a SE working on MNC is living in a shithole place? It's a big story will tell you guys later.

I work night shifts for 9-13 hours depending on the day, we only get night shift allowances but no overtime payment. General working hours in 9 hours but you know, shit happens and someone needs to work on solving them.

So let's go back to the opinion on reality and working hard as we were talking about. My take on life is, 'nothing matters'. Yup, you heard me, in the end, nothing matters. Money, power, position, relationship, assets, likes, dislikes anything and everything doesn't matter in the end.

Yup nothing matters, some may argue that it's wrong, the memories they made, the people they had a chance to meet and get to know, the experiences in their life everything matters.

We leave behind memories and live in others' thoughts and that's worth it.

Maybe for you, but for me still nothing matters, for the record, I am horrible at communication, and I still wonder how I joined as SE since it requires good communication. I hate people and it's a secret no one knows. I get the work done and communicate professionally on the technical side, so maybe they ignored the issue.

No work friends, never had a single drink in my life, never smoked and never got laid, yup I am a loser I know. People at work got used to me coming and leaving alone, as I said it doesn't matter to them as long as their job gets done.

So why I, a person with no interest and no will, am having this rant in my mind with imaginary people?

It's because something is happening in front of my eyes, something is happening in this world right in front of every living being present and it's out of reality.

Yup out of reality because the sky is split open in broad daylight in front of everyone.

Hey, at least someone could have informed me that a cataclysmic event will be going to happen today in the weather report.
