Chapter 29 - Chapter 29: The Wind and Splendor Restaurant

After sending Chu Yi away, only Wang Dongliang and his daughter Wang Ling were left in the living room.

Wang Dongliang trembled as he drank a sip of tea, feeling his throat loosen up. He glanced at the messy hall and couldn't help but feel shocked.

Even though he had seen many wealthy people and leaders, none of them had the same imposing presence as Chu Yi just now.

He knew who Gu Tianshi was to some extent. Even the mayor of Qingle City would be respectful when meeting him. That was because they were not on the same level at all.

If it weren't for this incident, Wang Dongliang and Gu Tianshi probably wouldn't have much interaction with each other.

But even such a person still kowtowed to Chu Yi without any complaints.

To look down upon everything and everyone is what a man should do with passion.

How could such a person willingly become a teacher?

Wang Dongliang didn't understand it in his heart.

"Wangling, you must show utmost respect to Teacher Chu from now on. Don't cause trouble at school anymore," said Wang Dongliang pretending to be angry.

"Dad, I'm almost one of the most well-behaved students in my class. And it's Teacher Chu who often causes trouble!" protested Wang Ling with her round eyes wide open.

Wang Ling felt similarly to Qin Ran; every day that Chu Yi was around seemed like there would always be something happening or going wrong somewhere.

"How can you say that about Teacher Chu?" asked Wang Dongliang sternly. "I'll set new rules for you today: if you don't score above 80 points on every exam from now on, your allowance will be cut by half."

"Ah..." cried out Wang Ling mournfully. She had just started having good feelings towards Chu Yi, but now she was itching to hate him.

...

On the other side of town, after leaving Wang's house, Wu Tianshan didn't have time to treat his injuries. He rushed from Qingle City to Jiujang City overnight.

In a corner of the suburbs of Jiujang City, there was a large courtyard that looked out of place with its surroundings and had an extensive area.

The courtyard appeared quite old-fashioned. The flickering lights burned in the darkness like green ghostly eyes.

Few people came here because they often heard ghosts crying and wolves howling nearby.

This is where the headquarters of the Tian Shi Association around Jiujang City is located.

"Wu Tianshi, what happened? Who hurt you?" asked a young gatekeeper in surprise as he saw Wu Tianshan's swollen face. He wanted to laugh but held it back instead.

"Let Ye Tianshi come out!" said Wu Tianshan angrily with resentment filling his eyes due to his severe injuries.

After a moment, a middle-aged man in his fifties walked out calmly.

With messy hair and pale rectangular face looking somewhat thin and sickly yet calm-minded; precisely speaking - sinister.

Tian Shi practitioners often deal with hostility energy, yin energy and evil spirits which can affect their mental state over time making them eccentric or even strange-tempered individuals.

Ye Li is responsible for this area's Tian Shi Association branch. The entire association is incredibly vast covering all regions across China along with some overseas branches too.

Of course, there aren't as many members as one might imagine since not many people are born with small heavenly eyes or Yin-Yang Eyes that remain open throughout their lives; however this involves an enormous industry chain.

Seeing Wu Tianshan's appearance made Ye Li feel uneasy inside since he knew that he was from Qin Hua City's headquarters and was also the son of their leader. He had been sent here because he caused trouble in the past.

He asked with a face full of apology and concern: "Master Wu, what happened to your injury?"

Wu Tianshan's cheeks were swollen and there were traces of blood. Speaking caused him unbearable pain, but he still snorted impatiently: "Master Ye, I was injured on your territory. What are you going to do about it?"

"Someone hurt you?" Ye Li's heart skipped a beat. "Master Wu, your strength is almost at the level of a martial artist. You understand many techniques in Taoism. Almost no one in Jiujang City and its surrounding areas can match you."

"Is it a grandmaster?"

"Luocheng Feng? No, I told him about your identity and he wouldn't be so foolish."

"It's a school teacher that I investigated from Sanzhong High School...You have to know that even my father has never hit me like this before. This is my shame and will also be the shame of Jiujang Province!"

Wu Tianshan's words made Ye Li tremble with fear; his eyes were filled with sinister meaning - this matter might not end well.

If even Wu Yaotian had been mentioned by Wu Tianshan, then things would become very troublesome.

Jiangnan Province was one of the largest provinces in China where the Taoist Association naturally developed comprehensively here.

Those who could sit at the top must have strong abilities and high status.

Ye Li had seen Wu Yaotian once before; he was truly an expert who was invincible under both Taoist techniques as well as martial arts skills - below only Grandmasters themselves!

Although he was nearly eighty years old now, compared to Wu Tianshan standing right in front of him looking young despite his injuries seemed unbelievable.

"Master Ye," said Wu Tianshan pointedly, "I am deeply saddened by such an incident happening on your territory. My father would be furious if he found out."

Ye Li cursed inwardly. Wasn't Wu Tianshan just trying to get him to teach that person a lesson?

He was already at the level of a martial artist, much stronger than Wu Tianshan himself. However, it was clear that the other party was not easy to deal with.

Ye Li looked at Wu Tianshan's injured face and clenched his fists, swearing confidently: "Master Wu, don't worry. I will handle this matter tomorrow and give you a satisfactory answer."

Ye Li wasn't exactly kind-hearted either; he immediately revealed an evil smile. If he could make friends with Wu Tianshan through this incident, then maybe he wouldn't have to stay in Jiujang City anymore.

"With my Taoist techniques even if they are martial artists they are no match for me."

Wu Tianshan's eyes were fierce: "Break all four limbs of that man surnamed Chu and throw him into the cemetery where vengeful spirits can possess him - I want him to suffer more than death itself!"

The two men smiled sinisterly.

This is the underground world, where the strong prey on the weak. There are no rules except for who has a bigger fist and who is more ruthless.

...

Life moves forward in an orderly manner.

After getting used to life in the immortal realm, Chu Yi found it refreshing to teach his students without any worries. After work, he made plans to catch up with his old classmate Wu Lei over dinner.

"Leizi, how's work going?" Chu Yi asked with a smile.

"Big brother, I'm honored by your greeting!" Wu Lei joked back. Although curious about what was happening with Chu Yi, he didn't ask too many questions.

"After our last encounter, my sister decided to divorce her husband. Now my parents are taking care of their child at home and my sister has luckily found a good job..."

As they walked down the street chatting for some time, Wu Lei generously offered: "I got paid today so let me treat you out tonight. You pick the place."

Chu Yi originally wanted to go somewhere cheaper but suddenly spotted Fenghua Restaurant and touched his purple gold card in his pocket.

"Let's go there."

Wu Lei's face fell when he saw it - "Brother...are you trying to bankrupt me?"

He was still an intern earning only two thousand yuan per month despite having some savings; this kind of restaurant was not something he would normally consider visiting.

But after thinking about how much help Chu Yi had given him before, Wu Lei thought treating him out nicely once wouldn't hurt either: "Let's go inside then! Today I'll be generous too!"

However at that moment an untimely voice interrupted them: "Teacher Chu if you don't have money then maybe don't eat here? It costs at least several thousand yuan."

Chu Yi turned around just as Zhou Ru appeared next to a young man dressed head-to-toe in designer clothes.

In Chu Yi's eyes, Zhou Ru was not a qualified teacher at all - even Dong Guohao was better than her. She always followed the trend and even deliberately smeared his reputation last time for Chen Junyu.

"Miss Zhou, this man you brought yesterday wasn't him though..." he winked.

The young man's face darkened as he looked up and down at Chu Yi and Wu Lei with disdain: "Zhou Xiao, is this your colleague?"

"A person who can't keep their mouth shut," Zhou Ru sneered back without hiding her contempt. She was quitting soon anyway.

"Teacher Chu, with your salary you should go eat street food instead." she added mockingly.

Wu Lei felt embarrassed while the receptionist politely asked: "Do you have a reservation?"

"No."

"I'm sorry but it might be difficult to get a table right now since we're fully booked. You may need to wait for a bit." The beautiful hostess replied courteously.

"Teacher Chu, are you here just to make fun of us? We can't even enter through the front door! Don't ever say that I'm your colleague!" Zhou Ru said bluntly.
