Chapter 22 - Chapter 22: I'm Not a Veterinarian

On a summer night, with no clouds in the sky, the stars were shining brightly.

Liu Qiang and his few lackeys were eating and drinking at a late-night snack shop. Of course, Chen Junyu was also accompanying them.

Chen Junyu was wearing a suit, had on a watch worth over ten thousand yuan on his wrist, and his hair was combed shiny. He didn't fit in with the environment here at all.

Looking at the barbecue brought out by the boss, he showed a hint of disgust in his eyes. With his status, if it weren't for asking these people for help, he wouldn't have come to such places to eat.

"These guys really have no future. Even if they have more wealth, they can only eat street food." Chen Junyu muttered to himself inwardly but appeared happy on the surface as he drank and chatted with these people like brothers.

"I am very grateful for your help this time. Once it gets reported in the news media that surname Chu won't be able to stay in school anymore," Chen Junyu downed a glass of wine.

He was quite generous indeed which made Liu Qiang's group feel quite pleased even though they were street bullies from this area deep down inside their bones. Being able to climb up to rich kids like him gave them some face value too.

"Teacher Chen, this is just small stuff; we can handle it easily..."

Just then Liu Qiang's phone rang; he looked displeased when seeing who called but suddenly froze halfway through drinking due to shock from what he heard over the phone call.

"I'll take this call." Liu Qiang said before rushing off quickly towards an empty place where there weren't many people around so that he could answer it without being disturbed.

"Zhao Ge (Brother Zhao), do you have any orders for me?" He asked with fear and trepidation. When Zhao Yue was still on the streets, he only knew how to extort elementary school students. Liu Qiang was very afraid of him.

"Liu Qiang, are you crazy? How dare you provoke anyone! Why didn't I kill you back then? Are you deliberately trying to cause trouble for me because I'm living too comfortably now?" Zhao Yue scolded him harshly.

With his power and influence, it wouldn't take much effort to find out about this matter. Combined with Chu Yi's attitude towards him, he had already guessed what happened.

He felt that it wasn't easy for himself to survive after encountering Chu Yi several times before; now even his subordinates offended the other party in public which made him feel angry beyond words.

"Zhao Ge...Zhao Ge, what's going on? Please explain." Liu Qiang was uncertain about what would happen next after being scolded by Zhao Yue.

"Did you go to Sanzhong (Third Middle School) this morning and smear a teacher named Chu Yi?"

"Yes, why? I checked beforehand; that person has no background. Besides, we were instructed by Er Shao Ye from Kaisheng Hotel this time so there shouldn't be any problems."

"No background?" Zhao Yue's voice turned cold as he sneered: "Even I have to serve him carefully; Hong Lao Da (Big Brother Hong) doesn't dare speak loudly in front of him either. You call that having no background? Liu Qiang, your courage is really too big!"

"Hong Lao Da?" Liu Qiang suddenly became dumbfounded; that was a dragon head in Jiujiang City! And they still had to serve under surname Chu?

Silence!

Liu Qiang's heart trembled violently as he couldn't believe it at all. He certainly didn't think that Zhao Yue was lying to him since he had mentioned Hong Lao Da's name.

His face turned pale, and he became dumbfounded for a while before finally speaking: "How could this be? Zhao Ge, you have to help me..."

"I'm just doing this for the money too."

Liu Qiang understood very well that even if Zhao Yue didn't want to deal with him personally, there were still many people under his command who would do it on his behalf.

Once this happens, my life is over.

"Okay, don't be nervous. The other party didn't blame you. You'll go to Sanzhong early tomorrow morning and do what you need to do. If the person isn't satisfied, bring your head to see me."

After speaking, he hung up the phone directly.

Liu Qiang was shocked and returned to his stall with an uncertain face.

"Chen Junyu, you've really screwed me over!" He cursed in his heart.

Compared to Hong Laoda, Kaisheng Hotel was nothing, let alone that the other party was just a powerless second young master.

At this moment Liu Qiang hated Chen Junyu deeply. He coldly said to his brothers: "Let's go. What else is there to eat?"

"Brother Qiang, we're just getting started here. Why leave so soon? Let's have a few more drinks." Chen Junyu didn't understand why.

You're about to die but still want to drag me down?

Naturally Liu Qiang didn't give him a good look: "I handle things myself. It's not your turn yet Chen Ershao (Second Young Master Chen). Take care of yourself."

Watching Liu Qiang and his men leave, Chen Junyu's face immediately darkened: "What kind of thing are they? Just a bunch of losers who dare show attitude towards me! I'll find ways to deal with them in the future."

"This sir, it comes out as 860 yuan total for everything here." The landlady walked over with a friendly smile on her face.

Chen Junyu touched his pocket and his face stiffened when he realized he had no money on him and couldn't pay by credit card either at this place.

"I'll have someone send it over tomorrow," he said instead.

"What kind of thing are you? Pretending to be someone you're not! No one dares to eat a free meal at my place." The landlady rolled up her sleeves.

Chen Junyu was angry, but in the end, under everyone's gaze, he could only leave his tens of thousands worth of watches behind and escape.

Of course, he didn't know that there would be even more unlucky things happening tomorrow.

...

"The sun is shining brightly. Skeletons are smiling at me. Zombies say early early early why do you have a bomb on your back..."

Chu Yi woke up from the eerie alarm clock and yawned. He had only slept three hours ago because he absorbed the spiritual energy from the copper plate.

After all, being a martial artist wasn't much different from an ordinary person.

After washing up quickly, he hurried to school where he had to supervise morning reading today.

At the school gate, it was bustling with activity. When Chu Yi squeezed his way in, he was stopped by Scar.

"Chu Laoshi, they're here to see you again," Scar said with a hint of despair. Imagine a group of thugs wearing suits but sporting red, green and white hair standing in a row - it was quite an eerie sight.

Chu Yi stuck his head in and laughed when he saw them. "Brothers, what play are you performing this time? Your costumes are really thunderous! Are you doing 'Thunderstorm'?"

The yellow-haired boy stuttered out an apology: "Chu Laoshi, we've come to apologize."

"You all listen up. I'm Liu Qiang representing the Six Evils from Changping District..." Liu Qiang's face remained calm but inside he was trembling as he looked at Chu Yi.

"We're apologizing to Chu Laoshi today!"

"Last time we were provoked by someone else - your student Chen Junyu - and we took money for our actions."

"But after investigating further, we found that Chu Laoshi is honest and upright. He thought long and hard about it and couldn't sleep or eat until he told the truth."

"Chu Laoshi, we're sorry for our mistake. Please forgive us." They bowed deeply after speaking.

Chu Yi had black lines all over his face; all he wanted was for them to talk things out with the principal quietly but instead they caused such a commotion!

But onlookers didn't think so:

"Isn't Chen Junyu that teacher who transferred from another school?"

"He's actually trying to smear Chu Laoshi?"

"I knew it! That photo must have been photoshopped since it's so blurry!"

...

In the second-year Chinese language teachers' office there was silence; each teacher wore a strange expression while Chen Junyu looked like water could drip off him from his gloomy face.

This incident had caused a stir and spread throughout the school. It would definitely reach other schools, making him a disgrace in the education industry.

"Those damn thugs! I paid them off and they still betrayed me!" Chen Junyu couldn't understand what had happened.

"The sun is shining so brightly today. Good morning everyone," Chu Yi said loudly on purpose.

"I knew you were innocent, Chu Laoshi. Anyone with eyes could see that someone has a grudge against you," Tan Yu handed him a cup of coffee.

"I think it's you who bribed those thugs to frame Chen Laoshi," Zhou Ru sang an opposing tune, trying to turn things around.

"Chu Laoshi, as an educator, how despicable of you to do such things. Alright then, we'll just wait and see!" Chen Junyu quickly bit back; he didn't want this reputation to stick with him forever.

Chu Yi was not polite this time: "If you're sick go find a vet! I'm not one!"

Chen Junyu felt like he'd been shot in the chest; anger surged within him almost causing blood to spurt out of his mouth.

"Cough cough...alright now everyone quiet down since we're in the office." Dong Guohao tried to calm them down by speaking up.

After drinking his coffee and feeling refreshed like a victorious fighter, Chu Yi hummed a little tune as he went off to meet his lovely students.
