Huasheng Group, isn't that Qin Ran's family business?
Chu Yi was still muttering to himself when he saw a man in his thirties dressed like an elite walking over, looking busy while checking his watch.
"Your brother-in-law is here," Wu Qing greeted him.
Lin Yunjie walked over with a frown and complained, "Leizi, because of your matter, I have to leave work early. Don't you know it's the busiest time for finance at the beginning of the month?"
"Forget it. You don't understand even if I tell you. You're already out in society. How can you be so childish? Exposing this kind of thing in front of people is just humiliating yourself."
"Think about it. Hongyuan is such a big company with more financial resources than Huasheng Group. Your boss is also the manager of the human resources department. What kind of official position does he hold? How could you offend him? It's lucky that you haven't been fired yet."
As soon as he arrived, Lin Yunjie started scolding him relentlessly and Wu Lei could only lower his head helplessly.
"But I didn't do anything wrong."

"And your sister too! Your whole family would not have such a good life now if it weren't for me taking care of everything."
Wu Qing's face changed slightly; she was currently unemployed and her parents were sickly so they relied solely on Wu Lei's income most times which meant they had to live according to Lin Yunjie's whims.
Wu Lei felt like burying his head in the ground.
"If you have any trouble, why don't you tell me? Maybe I can help." Chu Yi spoke up to ease the awkward atmosphere.
Seeing his old classmate present, Wu Lei felt a little embarrassed. "I just couldn't stand that Manager Sun and wanted to be a hero to save my colleague but now it seems like I've made things worse."
"Our Manager Sun has a bad temper. If you want to work at Hongyuan, you'll probably have to go through him too," Chu Yi said hesitantly.
"It's not a big deal actually. Maybe I can help you," he continued. For Chu Yi, it was really just one phone call away and even Fan Hong would be happy if he owed him a favor.
"Not a big deal?" Lin Yunjie interrupted their conversation. "You're Leizi's friend right? Young people nowadays are so arrogant. Do you know how much power the department manager at headquarters holds? Even our financial director from Huasheng Group couldn't make Manager Sun give face! Do you think you're some rich or official's second generation?"
As her husband kept talking more and more, although Wu Qing was uncomfortable with what he was saying she could only suppress her anger and quickly intervened: "Yunjie, please stop talking nonsense; Xiao Chu may not understand these things."
She then turned around and apologized to Chu Yi for her husband's behavior.
Wu Lei stood awkwardly aside. Although he was happy to see his old classmate, he didn't expect this kind of situation and felt a bit guilty.
Lin Yunjie sneered disdainfully, then caught sight of a slightly bald middle-aged man walking in through the door. His eyes lit up: "Manager Sun is here! His position is much higher than mine. We've only had two exchanges at social events before, so don't say anything inappropriate later."

After all, Hongyuan Group was stronger than Huasheng from the beginning, especially since Manager Sun was a department manager while Lin was just a supervisor.
Manager Sun carried himself with an air of superiority as he walked by carrying his briefcase. Even when some employees greeted him along the way, he just grunted in response.
The position of human resources manager came with great benefits and perks; it took someone with real ability to get there and nobody dared underestimate Manager Sun.
The group arrived at the lounge area where they sat down after Manager Sun did so first. Wu Lei and others smiled politely as they joined them.
"Supervisor Lin," said Manager Sun sternly,"We've met several times before so it's not that I'm not giving you face but that incident...this kid Wu Lei really embarrassed me by scolding me on site like that! He made me think he was my superior!"
"That incident was also part of my test for job applicants."
Manager sun tried crossing one leg over another but found out that he couldn't because he was too fat; instead,he rested it on his thigh. He looked like he was above everyone else.
"Leizi, apologize quickly," whispered Wu Qing as he pulled on Wu Lei's clothes.
Wu Lei stood up with his head down and hands clasped behind his back. His knuckles turned white from the force of his grip.
"Manager Sun, I'm sorry for what happened last time. Please give me another chance."
Wu Lei felt wronged but had to lower his head anyway.
Chu Yi watched Wu Lei's demeanor and felt a bit uneasy. He knew Leizi's personality well; in high school, he hated evil like an enemy and now making him apologize would definitely break one of his principles.
But then again, Chu Yi thought about how he himself acted in the past life.
No background, no high education, no connections, can only endure the ridicule and compromise of some people again and again. Rules are made for the weak! This principle applies even in the immortal world.
Chu Yi snorted disdainfully and looked at Manager Sun with a dissatisfied expression. When Manager Sun heard his voice, he looked at Chu Yi and felt uncomfortable seeing him lounging on the sofa.

Chu Yi tilted his head and scrutinized Manager Sun up and down before exclaiming: "I've never seen anyone play shamelessness so vividly. Since when did workplace harassment become part of performance evaluation?"
Upon hearing this, Manager Sun became furious while Lin Yunjie rebuked Chu Yi: "Xiao Chu, who do you think you are to talk to Manager Sun like that? Apologize immediately."
"Why should I apologize? If telling the truth is wrong then let me be completely wrong!" Chu Yi spoke righteously.
For some reason unknown to him, Wu Lei suddenly felt relieved. This was the same old Chu Yi from years ago whose temperament matched his own. In fact, such a temper would offend many people in society but not this time around as Chu Yi didn't care anymore.
"Manager Sun, I'm sorry...the kid is young..." Wu Qing apologized frantically while sweating profusely.
"Sis don't apologize to someone like him; I don't want this job anyway. Do you really think it's impossible for me as a college graduate to find another job?" Wu Lei said passionately.
"What nonsense are you talking about?!" Lin Yunjie was about to go crazy," Look at your brother's character! And what about this guy..."

"It's too late." Manager Sun stood up.
