As the days go by, Lexi enjoyed the wonders of a big city.
Thanks to the intimacy level that Marco has and the amount of trust Heaven Blaze city has with Vermillion mountain city, the issue of Lexi being an elf was not a problem.
Not one demi human showed any sign of discomfort or hostility.
Street foods. The citizen's daily life and their interaction with each other.
Such things that are trivial to others became one of the greatest experience for Lexi.
"And then, when they played they would change their roles until everyone gets to play their favorite character!"
Lexi narrated his experiences for the day to Marco like a child who went to school and met new kids for the first time.
"Is that so? Then, did you have fun watching and playing with them?"
"I did!"
Bam. Ba bam bam. Bam. Ba bam bam.
"... Hmm?
The two got up as the sound of drums could be heard.
"How flashy. It befits someone of high status~"
"That must be lady Lenyas, right master?"
"Yeah. No one else would have such a grand entrance in a remote city like this one in the outskirts of the demi human's kingdom"
A huge palaquin was being carried by two beasts that has the appearance of apes.
Knights who serve the noble formed two lines. Their armors and weapons gave off an imposing feeling to the citizens of Vermillion mountain city.
The one leading the march were drummers who were playing enthusiastically, as if to let everyone know that someone of nobility is has arrived and to make way.
On the rear of the march were servants and carriages filled with different metallic objects base on the clanging sound.
"The sight of this is making me remember a certain show... How wonderful!"
The mayor, the elders of the city, and the priestess all knelt down before the palaquin could arrive.
"Stop!"
The apes stopped. The drummers stopped. The entire marched stopped.
"May I ask, are you one of the citizen of the castle that lies in the very center of the world, Sir?"
Her fan pointed towards the room where Marco and Lexi were.
"Wow, she could tell that we are here"
"Not to mention, we could hear her words clearly even though there is quite the distance between us, master"
Marco pulled out his weapon, the megaphone he bought from the
"About your question milady, I am. My name is Marco Garcia who is in charge of all matters related to business"
"....."
Seeing as how he got here first, the noble woman came to the conclusion that there is a priest of great power among them in their castle for him to arrive here before they could.
Lenyas went down the palaquin by herself and walked forward.
"It is an honor for a priestess to welcome me"
Lenyas greeted Jarianne as she bowed slightly.
"It is also our honor to be in your presence, lady Lenyas"
"Priestess, please excuse me. I will be going to where that man is now. I hope my actions will not offend you"
"Absolutely not. Lord Marco arrived here a few days ago with the intent of negotiating with you, milady"
"Is that so? Then, I will now leave. Please excuse my rudeness"
Lenyas then became sure that there is indeed a priest from where Marco came from.
One of Jarianne's guards escorted Lenyas to Marco's room while the mayor and the elders of the city handled on how to deal with the apes and Lenyas' servants.
Knock. Knock.
"Come in"
The door opened.
"I will now be taking my leave, milady"
"Go ahead"
The knight went away as Lenyas went in and sat down on a chair that Marco prepared.
Marco slightly bowed.
"Allow me to introduce myself properly this time. I am Marco Garcia, president of the Garcia merchantry and is responsible with all business related matters of our city"
"This one's name is Lexi. A servant to my creator"
"...I am Lenyas Horulas, daugther of Marquis Horulas whose territory lies in the far west"
She replied.
Lenyas smiled as she thought, "That is no lie. I can sense sincerity from his words. But how can a human who seems so weak be able to create another life? An elf at that!?"
She then thought that this must be one of the reasons why most powerful individuals in the world, the 'Nine Heavens' are keeping a passive stance in front of them.
"Sir Marco arrived here in Vermillion mountain city in advance... I assume you already know what my purpose for coming here"
"I do. I do not want to show others our city that is still being built as it may come off as dirty to others"
Lexi came back with the complimentary snacks that Marco prepared in advance.
It was barbeque on a stick with the special wine.
"Thank you"
The smoky and flavorful fragrance build up tension from within.
Lenyas then took one and slowly ate the meat.
".....!"
The rich flavor of meat and spices, along with the smoky aroma, flooded her mouth as if it was filled with fireworks.
A burst of otherworldly taste!
"I hope it is to your liking~"
Marco said with a smug expression.
Lenyas then reached for the glass and drank the wine.
The sweet and mellow wine complimented the barbeque as if it created a sort of symphony of flavours.
"Let me be straight with you, lady Lenyas"
"....."
"I am sure you came here to procure for more wine that we make, because you tried it on a whim. And I want for our name to spread.
I think we will be great partners in this field, no?"
"... What makes you say that I tried the wine on a whim?"
"There is no way you would simply drink something that came from the countryside seriously even if it was recommended by someone close to you.
And the fact that you came here yourself must mean you are planning on establishing an exclusive trade with us before others can"
Lenyas placed the barbeque and the glass of wine back to the table as she wiped her lips with her handkerchief.
"That is true, Sir Marco. I suppose beating around the bush in a midst of flattery is not something you want"
"I do like being praised by others but business is business. I have to set my priorities straight"
Lenyas pulled out a paper and started writing on it.
"Just like what you said, I would like to form an exclusive contract with your merchantry, Sir Marco.
In addition to buying your products base on the price you decided on, I will give you ten percent of the money that I will make from selling your products. As the neice of the king, I am confident in my connections and influence all over the kingdom"
"Twenty percent. Since we can only make so little every once in a while, you would be able to make the most out of it"
Marco said with a 'peace' sign.
"..... Eleven! Plus I will add some materials that you inquire of"
"Nineteen! Don't you think that's too little?"
"Twelve. And no, I think that this much should be enough"
"Fifteen!"
"Deal!"
The two shook their hands with smiles on their faces as they hid their annoyance inside.
"Also, about this-"
"I am sorry. But I will have to say no no matter what offer you give me"
"Is that so?"
Lenyas became sad that she was flatly rejected after Marco said that barbeque cannot be trade with them.
"This is one of the food that belongs to our city. If milady wants some more, you can come to our territory to buy some"
"Alas, I will have to go back. Well, I can just come back again anyway"
A few hours then went by as the two continued on creating more clauses for the other contracts they created.
