After a few days, news about merfolks suddenly appearing in towns and cities near the capital of Ghalvhir spread like wildfire to its neighboring kingdoms.
The simultaneous appearance and continous onslaught left the humans at their wits end and died a painful death as the merfolks brutally slaugthered the humans they hated.
[One hundreth and twentieth day]
Almost all cities and towns in the kingdom was destroyed, leaving only the small towns in the countryside and the capital intact.
The royal family and the remaining soldiers and civillians inside the capital knew that there was no escape and that they will soon meet their end.
Countless crimes and riots appeared as if they no longer cared about anything anymore.
A flare then rose to the sky and bursted different dark colors.
With the sun up high in a cloudless sky, the people in the capital city figured out the meaning of the flare... a signal that the enemies to attack.
"It is time for us to take action"
"Will you be fine, master?"
"Of course I will!"
Tony raised his most treasured weapon, the sniper rifle, and condensed all of his energy into a bullet and fired it towards the walls of the capital city.
Boom!
The barrier that was protecting the capital for decades was cracked, making the people despair from the power of the blast they never knew was possible.
"What will you be doing now milord? Wait, is something wrong?"
Luca worriedly asked as he saw Tony fell to Veronica's arms.
"It is fine, master is just tired from using all that energy in one go"
"I... I see. That means we will have to go to our meeting point then"
"That's right. From now on, everything will now be in the hands of Sir Charlie"
The three escaped as the people panicked even more.
Using this chance, Charlie entered the city without alarming anyone and blended with the commong folks.
After some time, the people calmed down as they saw the barrier regenerating slowly, restoring the hole left by the unknown blast.
"Those damn rebellion army and merfolks! If it wasn't for them, we would have earned so much gold by now and would have enjoyed the luxury of not having to be treated as the weakest kingdom in the world!"
"There is no use to be so mad over something like that. Instead, we should use everything we have in order to obtain more merfolks!
They will be coming here themeselves, I know it!"
"The count is right, your highness. We can just proceed with the plan and take in more corpses for us to experiment on later"
"Good. Let's show them that we are superior to those lowly sea dwellers!"
After their discussion, they all agreed to use their hidden weapon against the merfolks.
...
Soon, the sun went down and the veil of the night embraced the sky in darkness.
After experiencing a near death situation like the powerful blast from earlier, everyone in the city begun to have fun in a drunken state to not regret anything in their final moment.
"Hehehe~ You see, I-"
One by one, people disappeared in back alleys and those near the wells.
Some time passed, and half of the city's population vanished completely.
It then was noticed and an alarm was set off.
"Quick! Activate the-"
The king and the remaining aristocrats who were on their way to activate their hidden weapon stopped as they saw a hooded man.
"This is what is most fun when playing adventure games, you will see all sorts of stories and get to know the lores behind the setting and the characters"
As the hooded man slowly walked forward, the aristocrats and the king who felt an eeriee air coming from the man made them stepped back in response.
"But now that I am seeing in real life, it sure is annoying and disgusting!"
Charlie took off his hood and showed his face covered with blood.
"I wonder, just why would peopele resort to such means. Why would people have fun doing such things? Well, there is no point in understand those who believe different things from you"
"Step back!"
One of them took out a magic item.
"Since we are building a country, I will make sure to not let parasites and vermins like you exist there. Even it it means having to accept the necessary evil that Leon will create.
I will make sure you selfish and two face bastards who would go as far as experimenting on your own living kind would die in the most horrid and gruesome death, that not even your worst nigthmare would dare to haunt you after they see your faces"
Before the duke could activate his magic item, a dagger flew and pierced his head.
With blinding speed, the dagger slashed everyone else.
Each slash were shallow but caused excruciating pain until they suffered hundreds of slashes, their blood covered the cold stone floor, as their tears of desperation dropped down.

[Your negative thoughts has been throughly devoured and will no longer change your usual self]
The weapon that Charlie bought fed on his negative emotion, keeping his sanity intact.
Unlike the others who knew they had to kill in order to survive, Charlie was opposed to the idea until he was left no choice and decided to have a weapon that will make sure he does not go astray.
"Haaa... The moon tonight sure is beautiful"
On top of the castle, one man admired the serene beauty of the moon in this cloudless sky as screams of help and agony echoed.
The stars twinkled and shimmered, creating a beautiful and heart warmming sigth as the merfolks vented out their suppressed anger on the people who killed their kind.
"From now... I promise to do my best to protect everything within the country that me and others will make"
The merfolks cheered as they finished killing off the humans.
"With that said, I hope your deaths become a stepping stone for us to achieve what we dream"
Charlie raised his hand as if he was reaching for the moon.
Boom!
"Tribe chief! Look!"
The merfolks were in complete shocked as they saw a giant sea serpent composed of dozens, if not hundreds, of dead merfolks.
"RRRYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!"
The chimera sea serpent roared malevolently, attacking and eating anything it sees.
"Do well and kill off each other so that I will have less people to kill"
