His friends were caught off guard, and he could make out the fear and awe painted on their faces, as they watched the conjured gate. Then, just at that moment Ashtotra let out a yell. The flaming skulls of the demon lord's Idol broke free from their positions, transforming into red flamed shadow dragons and started to attack to the civilians.
Without a word, Asuthosh stepped back before going full-on sprint back towards the temple, with a mixture of fear and dread burning in his heart, heading into the temple.
Followed by Ashtotra right behind Shayan and Zalim.
The entire fest plaza became one giant inferno, as the monsters raged on slaughtering and devouring each of the civilians.
Upon reaching the temple gates, immediately they shut the gates completely closed, hurriedly the rest of the people who were making a run to the temple made it inside, but only a few in which your group was a part of.
Inside the temple, the screams of the innocent were already silenced, with the stench of blood and ashes filling the air, making every breath a burden to take.
Asuthosh, who was in a state of panic, could never comprehend the probability of such an incident to happen in his life, but he knew it was commended to take place one day.
Clenching his hand into a fist, with such levels of adrenaline running through him, he couldn't even feel his nails digging into his palm, causing him to bleed.
Asuthosh looked at the civilians inside by his gaze, they could even make out the words he had in his mind. He wanted to help, but not possible it is, as he is not an Inhuman, so the only chance they had was to wait for one of themselves to magically reveal themselves as Inhuman and become their saviour.
The tension in the hearts of people made them question each other's existence at some point. Then, from one of the sides of the chamber, the sound of footsteps approaching his direction from the crowd, emerged a timiduous teenager, probably at age 13. the boy held his hand up slightly but inconfidently, like he was unsure.
"I'm an Inhuman." The boy spoke, with a tone that expressed his reluctance in helping. But the child held onto his morals, as one who wields power must take up the responsibility. "I may not be strong enough for the task, but I will help in any way I can! Trust me! All that I wanted to be from the beginning, was to be a superhero, and if this is the chance for me to become one, then I'm up to do anything!"
The group felt embarrassed, as they who are older than this child, couldn't do anything within their potential. Suhasini and Ashtotra approached the child and tried to persuade him to change his mind, while Zalim and Shayan approached Asuthosh to ask him for what could be done.
"Ashu, I know how wise your decisions can be and I know of your precision scale of planning and ideals, but please, tell me there's another way we can get out of this situation without the child's soul at stake." Shayan spoke, although he always had a mischievous personality, he couldn't just stay aside and let someone's life be taken away. Continued by Zalim, who's the second wisest, "Think about it, Ashu. While we're stuck here, we could at least stay together for as little while as possible, and I'm sure the government would've found out about the situation here, they must've already deployed troops or even powerful Inhumans to exterminate these monsters, think about it!!"
"Then tell me," Asuthosh finally opened his mouth, and spoke with a tense and panicked tone, "Do you think these beasts will just stay on rampage in the fest? By this time, as you've seen the dimensional gate, even you can fathom the number of monsters wreaking havoc and bringing chaos in the surroundings. Imagine what is supposed to be going on in the city!!"
