"That'll be 1 silver coin for 7 nights, and a shower included."
"Here you go ma'am."
"Hey, a bit of advice, most women in this town seem to have a fetish in raping boys like you. Be sure to watch your back."
"I will take your warning to heart ma'am." Aldrich then went up the stairs in the inn and went towards his room.. Inside was a twin bed with a nightstand and care products. Aldrich had gotten used to properly taking care of his hair and skin due to needing to look good for the princess.
Even though the skin around his hands was rough due to him training in swordsmanship. Though he didn't really need to take showers and go to the bathroom due to Magic. Nothing beats the feeling of a shower as Aldrich said.
Aldrich himself wondered how bad it was in this town that the innkeeper's would have to give a warning like that. He knew there was an abundance of powerful women in this world since Alice had to have the whole "saving your partner from a perverted person or perverted people" cliche.
The boys themselves were stronger than the average woman but the women Alice went against were almost as powerful as her. It was the same on every route. Aldrich hated it due to him getting attention from less than savory women though they were beautiful the way they looked at him was not so pretty.
This world was very role reversed due to them needing certain routes making sense. Such as the main capture targets giving lap pillows for Alice, making meals for Alice and situations where it would be the man pushing the woman against the wall it was Alice pushing her capture targets against the wall.
Aldrich had seen this in the academy most, it wasn't like the women hated men who weren't like the capture targets but those with big muscles and were tall didn't really get surrounded like the delicate boys. That was how it was in the academy and the capital. The town Aldrich was in was near the capital and dukedom.
It took 1 week to get to the capital from the dukedom and it had been a day since Aldrich left. He was able to travel faster due to the immense mana in his body. He just strengthened his body and ran. Though he wasn't fast enough to break the sound barrier he was still far times faster than the average human on earth.
Aldrich didn't want to teleport constantly due to him wanting to have more experience with body strengthening and so he could enjoy the scenery. He had even camped out something nobles wouldn't voluntarily do unless they were in war. Aldrich knew how to camp out and cook food so it felt to him like he was stargazing.
Compared to earth which has been polluted this world was beautiful. After that night Aldrich had arrived in the town Scorchview. The town was bigger than most towns as it was near the capital which meant merchants frequented this place allowing inn's and other businesses to prosper.
So the town itself was very successful and was a popular tourist spot. Aldrich was going to explore the town right now seeing as he made it to the town in the early morning. He had seen some people waking up early and taking care of horses and other animals to care for the farms.
The townsfolk all worked together when it came to farming, unlike other towns which had families that farmed to make money this town had a huge farm and if people wished to work the lord of the town would give them the job. It was a hard job but it paid 45 bronze coins for each day of work which was a lot compared to other jobs. 100 bronze coins equaled 1 silver coin and 100 silver coins equaled 1 gold coin.
1 gold coin would be able to sustain a family of four for 1 year. Above the gold coin was a platinum coin which only royalty had. Aldrich had been forced to learn about the value system due to his requirement of making a successful business. Albert had given Aldrich a task to make a successful business and Aldrich had done exactly that.
What Aldrich had done was very simple in terms of modern earth but it was very revolutionary for this world. He made freezers and fridges. By using ice magic along with water magic Aldrich had been able to make fridges and freezers. This was a game changer for local businesses as they could now keep their produce and meat fresh without the need of a mage.
This invention was new to this world unlike the shower head. After that Aldrich disguised himself and started to sell the product. It immediately became a hit and the average person would be able to afford it and use it.
The product was simply called a refrigerator. Aldrich felt that there was no reason to change its name and he couldn't really think of any names. The refrigerators and freezers were very easy to make but only Aldrich could inscribe the magic circle for it to work. Unlike the shower head which was only used for about 10 minutes a refrigerator would have to stay on for years.
So taking the mana circle that was inscribed into the shower head he improved it by making it able to take a year's worth of mana. Aldrich had supplied the first few hundred with mana before selling it to some nobles. Aldrich had also created cans of mana though to call them cans would be an understatement.
The amount of mana in those 'cans' could power up 30 spells worth of high class spells. Aldrich was able to fill 10 of those a day. Those cans would be given out for 10 silver coins for those unable to refill their freezer or Refrigerator with mana.
The freezers and Refrigerators were a very simple design that Aldrich made with creation magic. It wasn't hard to make though and Aldrich had hired multiple people who were able to make it. The prices of the freezers and refrigerators varied based on size but the one which was perfect for the average household in this world was 75 bronze coins.
The average household made 1 gold coin a year so Aldrich thought it was a fair price especially since this product was a lifesaver for anyone. He wanted everyone to be able to get it. After his product was a booming sale Albert took over after that.
Albert didn't want Aldrich to become some merchant; he just wanted Aldrich to understand how it worked. Aldrich didn't mind since he didn't have an interest in business ventures and let his father handle the finances and deals. Of course Aldrich gave ideas to Albert so the business kept producing revolutionary items that this world would probably never get until 400 years in the future.
Aldrich had done that when he was 14 so it was barely a year ago but now most businesses in the kingdom had Refrigerators and freezers. Which was why Aldrich was now Putting on more commoner-like clothes. Aldrich went down the stairs of the inn and went to the dining area of the inn.
"Hi! What would you like to order, sir." A cute waitress walked over to Aldrich as he sat down. The girl looked about 11 and he concluded that she was the innkeeper's daughter. She handed Aldrich a menu that was very simple and he ordered.
"Ah. I will have the marinated duck breast, with a side of vegetables. Oh and can I please get rice and water?"
"Rice and water, Okay! Your order will be out shortly." The waitress left and went towards the kitchen. Right now it was only Aldrich here but it would probably change in a few minutes. It was early in the morning about 6:57 and Aldrich was surprised such a little girl was up so early.
After a few minutes both men and women walked into the dining area. Most of them were dressed in armor making it clear they were adventurers. Aldrich had gotten a few glances from some of the women but they were too hungry to be able to focus on Aldrich.
Aldrich right now had no disguise on. His gills showed and his silver hair with streaks of emerald green. Aldrich had grown long hair due to the princesses preference so he had no reason to keep it but, his hair didn't grow like his father's hair which was more poofy. His hair went straight down and had slight curls like his mothers.
So he decided to keep it like that to remind him of his mother. While stewing into his thoughts the waitress came over and gave him his food.
"Here you go! Thank you for your patronage!" The waitress said and went over to another group of people. Aldrich got the utensils and started to eat.
'This tastes good. It's not surprising considering the game developers made this kingdom have the food of the Japanese so it reminds me of my sister's cooking." Aldrich thought while eating the duck. It was marinated with a sort of teriyaki sauce and the rice was cooked perfectly.
He wondered if the chef cooking this was Japanese himself. Focused on his food Aldrich was completely oblivious to everyone staring at him. Even the waitress and innkeeper were staring at him. The reason being the way Aldrich ate.
It was clearly different from everybody else in the dining area. He ate with a certain grace that caused others to look at him since it was out of place. Aldrich wasn't doing this intentionally; he had been taught how to eat correctly since he was nobility. He needed to lest he offend someone.
Aldrich had slowly eaten savoring his meal and finished 15 minutes later. He cleaned himself and put down 10 bronze coins to pay for the meal. After that he left the inn to go explore the town.
"This feels nice. It's so warm and comfortable." As Aldrich was walking he voiced his pleasure in the atmosphere of this town. There was a slight breeze that carried both hot and cold wind making it quite pleasant. The people of the town were waking up and getting ready for their long day.
Children were also helping their parents while others were out playing with other children.
"Oh my! It's the Valkyrie's!"
"It is! We're so lucky! They'll definitely solve that monster problem!"
"The A rank adventurers are here?!? No way!"
"I wanna be a Valkyrie when I grow up!"
"Idiot~! They only accept girls! I'm going to be one when I grow up!"
Hearing a commotion Aldrich walked over and saw a large group of people surrounding a group of 12 women dressed in armor. The women seemed to be talking among themselves discussing strategies and their approach to the Forest residing outside of the town.
'Valkyrie's? Like the ones that served Odin?' In the middle was most likely the leader of the valkyries. A tall woman easily reaching 200 cm's she had blue skin and a muscular frame. She was an Orc. Orc's were extremely different from what Aldrich was used to as she was extremely beautiful.
Unlike the grotesque orc's he had seen in manga and anime from his sister. She had long black hair with Red eyes. As Aldrich was staring he locked eyes with the orc. Though Aldrich couldn't see it a light blush appeared on her face but before Aldrich would notice another woman quickly got the orc's attention.
The woman held in her hands weapons and traps considering the fact that she was talking to the leader and ordering the other Valkyrie's around she must've been the vice captain. She was considerably shorter than the Orc but she was still tall for a human woman.
Losing his interest and wanting to continue his exploration, Aldrich teleported by the huge crowd.
"Whoahhh!"
"Ah." Aldrich teleported right behind a boy that was his age. The boy was dressed in a simple brown shirt and brown pants. He jumped when he saw Aldrich appeared out of nowhere and dropped the items he was carrying. Aldrich bent down and picked up the stuff the boy didn't pick up or more like he was still too stunned to pick it.
"Are you okay? Aldrich said, looking at the boy. The boy immediately went bright red and stammered out a sentence.
"I-I'm f-finee." The boy said and quickly jumped up and took the box of items from Aldrich.
'Does, does he think I'm a girl?' Aldrich thought as the boy looked at him with curious eyes.
"I'm a guy like you just so you know."
"I-I knew that!" The boy replied, completely taken aback by Aldrich's response. He had clearly thought Aldrich was a beautiful young woman. The boy himself was pretty average looking, he had brown hair and brown eyes. Though he was average he had a kind of rustic charm that would be popular with commoners.
"S-so how did you appear behind me? I didn't hear a single thing." The boy questioned Aldrich.
"You weren't paying attention." Aldrich replied instantly. Aldrich didn't care if people figured out he could teleport but he did care if people would figure out he was a noble. He didn't want to be seen as a noble since it might make people treat him differently. Unknown to Aldrich the people in the inn already suspected him to be a noble due to the way he ate.
"There's no way. I have pretty good hearing and I didn't hear a single footstep!" The boy said loudly. Aldrich seemed to think the boy wouldn't let this go so changed the subject.
"Whatever. What do you have in this box? I don't see why you would need such a wide variety of tools."
"Nn? Ah, they're for me, father. He's a blacksmith." The boy said. As he said he looked at Aldrich curiously, not realizing he hadn't seen Aldrich before.
"Hey, are you new here? I've never seen your face before."
"Yeah I just arrived in town today so I'm exploring right now." Aldrich replied.
"You're exploring huh. Very well then I shall assist you. A newcomer like you won't figure out where to go!" The boy replied in an exaggerated tone. Aldrich looked at him weirdly and reiterated what he said before.
"I don't have to remind you that I am a boy again do I?"
"I know you're a boy!! Geez." Though he said the boy was still slightly red. Clearly he thought Aldrich was beautiful. Sighing to himself Aldrich accepted the boy's offer and held out his hand.
"Very well then. I am Aldrich. Nice to meet you."
"Ah, oh, yah. My name is Dillion. Nice to meet you Aldrich." Dillion took Aldrich's hand and shook it.
"So, Dillion, where will you take me?" Aldrich looked at Dillion while tilting his head. This action made Dillion blush bright red and forced Dillion to say in his mind "He is a boy he is a boy he is a boy" repeatedly.
"W-well first we're going to my fathers black blacksmith shop to drop off the tools. After that we'll go to the marketplace. They got a lot of cool stuff there." Dillion said, walking straight ahead. Aldrich followed him while asking questions. For the first time in his new life Aldrich had made his first friend.
