Cebu City
Right now I'm attending a seminar with few prominent people in business and finance.
Thankfully I was able to get an invitation because of Ms. Johan. I only went once here in Cebu because of a field trip and kinda brings me many happy memories.
But that's not the main reason why I'm here all of the sudden. I was tracking down a person that leads me here.
Sir Fabrio Augustus. He was a guest speaker in our regional accountant group back in my first year college. He had a lasting impression to me because of his work as an forensic accountant.
It was new and I was once inspired to become one. Not to mention a Corporate Lawyer and A Certified Public Accountant.
A good addition to my team, if I'm able to convince him.
I must looked for him after this seminar. I know it sounds weird for a 16 year old girl doing that but I already got passed my hesitation if my bright future is on the line.
Few Moments later
"Good morning Sir Fabrio." He was a man around early 30's.
"Good morning, to whom am I speaking to?"
"Sorry for the rudeness, I am Kayleen Bartolome." Help, that was not a good start.
"Oh Kayleen? Good morning, I'm sorry I didnt recognized you."
"That's okay sir, I am more than happy to escort you to the meeting place." We already exchanged few emails to make this meeting happen.
I hired and rented a car while Johan reserved the place. She'll be arriving in the afternoon.
"Oh you didn't have to." He looked somewhat embarrassed.
"No no I insist." I think I cornered him as he hesitantly say yes.
During the ride he initiated the conversation.
"Being escorted by a teenager, I have mixed feelings."
I was about to laugh it off but I got alarmed by the driver's expression. He could misunderstood that.
"Sir Lucio its not what you think." I tried to clear out a possible misunderstanding.
Then all of the sudden Sir Fabrio laughed.
"Hahahaha I'm sorry, I didn't think well before I speak."
Embarrassed, I meekly sat during the short ride.
After settling in the room, we immediately got straight with business.
"Honestly Kayleen, Im still confused about this whole thing. Like Im here talking to a minor about business, Never did I imagine this scenario.
Wait I meant in a good way, no ill thoughts." Sir Fabrio added.
"Hahahah don't worry Sir Fabrio I know what you meant. I guess this is somewhat unexpected and perhaps wild. Wild as it meant crazy."
I don't know but I think Im enjoying this. Carefully choosing our words as a minor and adult.
"Hahah alright, I won't hold back now so Im gonna be transparent with my intention."
This feels like the same meeting with Johan.
"This meeting you set up, what purpose does it serve for?"
I didnt reveal that on the messages.
"I'm here to formally seeked you out as a business partner."
Well that caught him off guard.
"Business partner you say?"
"Yes as a Business partner. I want to establish a stable footing in the business world. I did investment last year with the help of Johan, my partner and its been going well in the past few months with swatain Corp, tc mall, honeybee corporation etc."
"I see, that's amazing but I can't see reasons why I should accept your offer."
I already see this coming but it's still hurts my ego.
"With everything going on my investment, one thing I have prioritised is to secure 100% guarantee returns. Its impossible, Im very aware of that but I didnt suffer any setbacks during this past month. My money double, tripled in a short period of time. And soonest I shall take a seat as the youngest shareholder in the most successful shopping mall in the country, TC Mall. I'm not bluffing, watched me as I make it happen if you agreed to be my business partner."
"That's extravagant and ambitious. You almost convinced me there unless you got proofs with your words."
And that's a good sign.
"Unfortunately, Johan is personally responsible for that. She's coming this afternoon."
"Then why did you arranged this early on? ."
"So that I am able to show you that I'm not weak to stand alone upfront."
"Impressive."
