Narcia held onto the jacket as she watched Liam walk inside the dorm, now safe from whatever had come near them. She hadn't gotten the chance to catch its scent, but her wolf had told her to run, so she did. She kicked a pebble on the ground and started to walk towards her own dorm. She couldn't believe he had let her hold his hand for a bit. She smiled to herself as she walked inside. A few of the girls from her pack rushed to her.
"Alpha! Where were you!?" One yelled as she took the jacket off.
"You worried us sick! We we're gonna get the boys involved soon!" A smaller one said as she hugged Narcia.
"As you can see, our alpha is alright. Please head to your respective rooms and sleep. There is still school in the morning." A dark purple haired girl said as she pushed her glasses up.
"Thanks, Tammy. I don't want to deal with them at the moment." Narcia said as she rubbed the brink of her nose. The whole night replaying in her head.
"Care to explain where you had gone? And why did you take so long?" Tammy asked as she walked towards their room, the armor starting to get pretty heavy on her arm.
"I went to pick up the piece my father requested... But..." She started with a blush as she remembered how sweaty and gorgeous her mate was at that moment.
"Alpha, you are blushing... That is quite rare." Tammy said, causing to get a growl from Narcia. How could she not blush at the imagery that was in her head? Or at the heat that was down between her legs.
"I met with Liam... He works there at the forgery." She said as Tammy started to put two plus two together, giving her alpha a small pat on her back.
"I understand. Well, please try to rest, I prepared warm milk by your bedside already. Rest well." Tammy said as she stretched and lay down on the bed beside the one Narcia sleeps in.
Narcia sighed, dropping the armor by the door and putting the coat on her bed. She walked to the bathroom to take a shower. The warm water felt amazing as it fell down her hair and body, her mind replaying the event she had witnessed tonight. Her wolf whimpered as she started to feel warmer. He had such nicely toned muscles. She wanted to dig her nails in that strong back of his, to watch his face be pleasured by her.
She quickly opened her eyes, bitting her lip. She knew better than to do this kind of thing. She quickly washed herself and stepped out to dry. Once all ready, she headed to her bed, drinking the milk to help her sleep, but sleep never found her. She twisted and turned, touching her hand where his had been, closing her eyes to try and remember the tingle it had given her.
"Mate..." She whined as she slowly started to grow tired. Unfortunately for her, as she started to drift off to sleep, her alarm rang. She growled and crushed the cursed thing, rubbing her face in annoyance.
"Someone is grumpy this morning." Tammy said with a yawn as she walked to the bathroom.
Narcia slowly sat up. She had never woken up with so much displeasure before, but if it meant she would see her mate like she did yesterday every time it happened, she would not mind.
"Come on, alpha. If you dont get out of bed, we will be late." Tammy said as she tied her hair in a high ponytail, putting her glasses on.
"I couldn't sleep at all, Tam... This night was white. I can't get over his touch. It was so heavenly." She said as her wolf purred, making Tammy chuckle and shake her head.
"You really like that boy, dont you?"
"Tam, he is no longer a boy... That body of his. It puts ideas that are beyond appropriate in my head!" Narcia exclaimed as Tammy rolled her eyes.
"No more Lili then?" Tammy asked as Narcia shook her head and laughed.
"He's a full-on sequoia tree. He is like night and day in difference now. Tam, it's not even funny!" She said as Tammy chuckled and pulled Narcia on her feet.
"Well, you can drool over his figure once in class, remember?" She said as Narcia's eyes lit up. She had forgotten that she had math class first thing in the morning and that he was in it.
It was like life was breathed back into her body. Her legs sprung her towards her closet, where she quickly picked up an outfit she hoped would capture his eyes at least half as much as he had caught her own.
"How do I look?" She asked Tammy as she did a spin, her black squirt twirled with her. She wore a white long-sleeved shirt with a heart-shaped bust.
"Beautiful! Now, tie your blond hair up, and you'll look perfect. Do you want me to do it?" She asked before getting a nod that gave her permission to tie Narcia's hair in a high ponytail.
Narcia tied a white bow at the base of her hair and smiled as she put some mascara and a light but sparkly grey eyeshadow. She knew if this didn't catch his eyes, nothing would. She took his jacket and slowly put it on herself, taking a deep sniff out of the collar. It was addictive. They both rushed down the stairs, each grabbing a toast with butter to snack on their way there.
Her heart was racing like crazy, she was looking forward to seeing him, she wanted to hug him, to kiss him. Tammy, who was barely keeping up, was not as optimistic. From the small amount of it that she had gathered, the night had only been great for one side. They both walked in, out of breath, their eyes scanning the room for the boy.
"Tammy... How much time is left until -" She started before the bell rang, causing her eyes to widen.
"Liam... Isn't it here." She said as she walked to her desk and sat down. Her wolf whined at the news, having been excited to see him. She didn't understand why he wasn't present. Had something bad happened since the night before? Had he gotten sick. Was he avoiding her? Before she could realize it, she was hyperventilating.
"Alpha... Are you alright?" Tammy whispered, causing her to snap out of it, tears threatening to fall out of her eyes.
"H-He's not here. My mate... Where's my mate?" She softly sobbed in silence, trying not to catch attention to herself as she dried the tears with her handkerchief. She was worried. What if that thing had gotten him this morning?
"You are worrying for nothing, Alpha. You do realize how embarrassing yesterday must've been for him, right?" Tammy said in her ear, making her shiver a bit. She was right. As much as it had been a wonder for her, it probably had been a nightmare for him. But something deep inside her wasn't agreeing. She had this gut feeling that something else was going on. And she decided the best way to know was to confront the closest person to Liam.
As soon as the bell rang, Narcia jumped out of her chair. She couldn't stand staying there a second longer, sprinting through the halls to make it to her PE class as fast as she possibly could. Quickly changing into her gym outifit, Narcia burst into the gym where only a few had arrived, including the one she was looking for. She made a straight line for him.
"Where is Liam!?" She exclaimed as Matheo stood up from where he was seated.
"He is alright, Narcia." Matheo said before sighing. He knew she wasn't gonna take that as a proper answer.
"I asked where he was!" She yelled, gripping his collar with a growl, making Matheo lift his hands up in submission.
"Alpha, Liam didn't feel well this morning. He stayed in the dorm." He said quickly to Narcia, hoping she would let him loose soon. As he had hoped, she let him go after hearing him, turning on her heals to the changing room. She quickly changed into her chosen outfit and started to run towards the boys' dormitory.
She couldn't believe it, he completely got sick because of her. If he hadn't given her his coat, then he probably would have been fine, and she would have been the one sick in bed today. As she thought about it, a small voice in her head echoed that Liam would have probably preferred it that way since he would've had a whole day break from her. She shook the thoughts away, hoping that it wouldn't be the case.
"Our mate can't hate us that badly... Can he?" She asked her wolf, only to receive a small whine from her. It wasn't reassuring at all. She quickly opened the door, following her nose to that heavenly smelling door she had once crossed. She shivered as she leaned against the door, uncertain if she should knock first or simply come in.
"Narcia..? Are you... there..?" She heard faintly behind the door, it broke her heart to hear the strain in his voice. She gently turned the doorknob, slowly stepping inside the dark room. His smell was way weaker than usual, it hurted so badly to smell his pain.
"Hey Liam... I heard you were sick, so I came to check on you." She said softly as she approached the bed, her breath hitched in her throat at the sight.
Liam's eyes were shut tightly, sweat dripping along his face. His cheeks were crimson red, and his hair was completely wet from the sweating. He was clearly having a harsh fever. Her heart ached even more now. She gently reached a hand to his forehead to wipe some of his sweat. To her surprise, he leaned a bit into it, but it didn't last long as she jumped up.
"Liam! You're scorching hot! " She said as he grunted at the sudden loudness of her voice. She didn't waste a moment and rushed to the bathroom, grabbing a small towel that she dipped in cold water. She rushed back to the room and lifted the blanket with a gasp. He was still shirtless. She quickly swatted her embarrassment away and put the towel on his chest. A small moan of relief escaped him and caused her to blush.
"This feels nice... Thank you..." He mumbled out as his eyes seemed to relax. He was soon asleep by her side. She shook her head and gently petted his hair. She did not care that they were wet with his sweat. He looked so peaceful now. It made her smile to see him so much better already. She stood up and went to grab another cold water towel. This time, she put it on his head and watched as he slept.
"I was such an idiot Liam... I know I asked a lot from you. To forgive me when I have done you so much wrong. Just know... I regret it." She whispered softly as she started petting his hair again.
"I remember every time you were there for me, but I was never there for you. I'm sorry... It must've been so hard living without your parents and having to deal with my cruelty." She whispered in a more broken voice, tears starting to surface.
She didn't deserve to have him as her mate.
