Chapter 4 - : “ALMOST THERE”

I felt around for anything I could protect myself with. The lights were off, but I could still hear the tv blaring. All I could hear was my name. I was almost there. I was almost to my parents.

As I began to get up, I felt a sharp, painful pinch on the bottom of my back. I was getting weak, but I thought it was just from being so dehydrated. Not at all. I was bleeding out and wasn't aware that I've been knicked. I couldn't walk anymore, so I crawled again. Well at least I tried to. This was it. I was dying.

My hands were covered in blood. He was standing over me watching as I struggled to get away. I begged him to help me and let me go, but all he did was smile and whistle. It's like he knew I couldn't get away, but he still let me try. "Why me?", I asked. Nothing was said. All I could hear is the tv and the creaking of the floor. He finally walked away and started counting down from 10. " I will give you another chance to hide, but this time if I catch you I won't be so nice", he said. It took everything in me to get up and try to find somewhere to hide. The place was like a maze. As I'm limping away, all I can hear is him slowly counting down. Tears were rolling down my face and all I could think of is bleeding out before I even got a chance to hide. "2.. 1..0.., here I come pretty girl", he says. I put my hand over my mouth to silence my whimpers. I could here his steps fading as if he was walking away from where I was hiding. I was on the other side of the house. He knew the design of the house better than me, so he had the advantage of knowing where my location could be. 10 minutes went by and I could hear the sound of the tv faintly. I finally got the courage to peep my head out the closet I was in, and there he was. He couldn't see me, but I knew he knew I was around. I lodged back into the closet, closed my eyes and prayed that he wouldn't find me. I looked around in the closet, and there was a bat with a name "Jessie Hillman" carved on the side. Was it his? Was it another victim he kidnapped? Those questions needed to be answered, but I knew I had to be ready to hit him if he did open the door. The creeks became closer and closer. He was about to open the door. I was ready.
