Chapter 29 - Chapter 29: Sudden attack

They continuously observe the goblin's movements from the back of the tall grass, waiting for the right time to attack this creature.

"Chronos, we can at least wait until the number of goblins is reduced." Asher's gaze continued looking straight ahead without even a glance at Chronos. "There are too many of those creatures."

"Ash, but how long should we wait?" Chronos started scratching his head in a grumbling tone. "Uh, all right, all right." He rolls his eyeballs upwards and returns to observing.

The goblin seems to open a white jug and seems to be pouring a black liquid into the swamp while laughing and showing his sharp canine teeth.

"Gosh, it turns out the rumors are true." Asher shook his head. "This damn goblin caused all this.

Chronos sensing the heat flowing to the crown of his head makes him unable to look at it all and carelessly goes out of his hiding place without following Asher's order.

"Chronos, what the ...."

Chronos doesn't hear Asher's words at all and instantly attacks one of the goblins holding the jug, causing it to break and release a very bad smell.

"Oh my, what is this smell?" Asher wrinkled his brow and runs after Chronos who is fighting with the goblins.

Chronos quickly slashes his sword at the goblin, but the other goblins block Chronos' attack and kick him to the ground.

"Regen!"

The blood of Asher and Chronos slowly regenerates little by little until Chronos' blood turns green again. Chronos then stands up and immediately uses his fatal blow skill and manages to kill 1 of the goblins. Asher shoots some light from inside his staff and manages to injure the goblin.

"Slash! Slash!"

Chronos' slash successfully kills two goblins and leaves about seven goblins to kill, but it turns out that the seven remaining goblins are red.

"Ash, I can only use my fatal blow once." Chronos shook his head. "My skill requires a cooldown and it's impossible to kill all these goblins in time."

"Ah, damn!" Asher looked around and it seemed impossible to escape from here as the goblins have managed to gather around them.

"Ash, use your summon skill." Persea patted Asher's shoulder repeatedly. "Cerberion is fire-type and those goblins are weak to that element."

Asher immediately used all his mana points, but it took time to summon the creature.

"Chronos, please protect me while I summon Cerberion." Asher seeks a position far enough away from the goblin for the spell to be successful.

"Alright, I'll cover you." Chronos used his dash skill and tries to block every attack that comes near Asher.

Asher then points out his magic wand and starts chanting the summoning spell. Not long after, a green light emerges from the position where he is standing and foreign energy is flowing from inside Asher's body.

"Guardian creature of the underworld, I summon you Guardian of light: Cerberion!"

A few seconds later, a strange vibration and a black portal appear, revealing a large, three-headed dog with a piercing red gaze and a gust of fire coming out of its mouth. Cerberion steps out of the portal and quickly strikes the goblins in the vicinity. The creature releases a fireball from its mouth and directly strikes all the goblins until all of them are killed simultaneously.

'800 exp earned'

'You have obtained 300 gold coins, and 2x goblin skins'

'800 exp earned'

'You have obtained 280 gold coins, 1x goblin skins, and 1x goblin teeth'

Chronos and Asher are stunned to see the same notification appear seven times in a row on their respective screens.

"Ash, that's so cool!" Chronos shook his head. "I don't expect the white magic class to have such a terrifying ability."

"Yes, but unfortunately the mana points run out instantly. "Asher used the elixir and adds his mana points. "And it also seems that for now, I can't use this skill because it has a long cooldown."

"Yes, but at least the goblin is gone." Chronos glanced around and ensures the presence of the other goblins. "Come on, now's our chance."

The two of them quickly approached the surface of the swamp, then Asher takes the bottle that the fairy doctor gives to him and pours the liquid into the swamp.

"Ash, are you sure the liquid is working?" Persea pointed at the surface of the swamp. "The color hasn't changed at all."

"Wait, why isn't the liquid working correctly?" Asher scratched his head. "Does the fairy doctor gives the wrong liquid?"

"Ash, we should ask the fairy doctor directly and confirm this." Chronos slowly turned his gaze and looks at Persea. "Persea, please take us back to Malana village."

Persea then uses her teleport ability and instantly they all returned to Malana village quickly and see the doctor first.

'Doctor, we have poured the liquid you give to us. But why isn't the color of the swamp changing?" Asher furrows his brows in curiosity.

"The liquid needs a process to neutralize the poison in the swamp." The fairy doctor stroked his chin. "Don't worry, the swamp should be non-toxic and safe for living creatures now."

'You have completed quest 12: Source of trouble'

'Gained 500 Exp'

'You have obtained 600 Gold coins, 1x Elixir, 2x Potions'

They return to the fairy swamp and see a change in the color of the swamp's surface, which slowly becomes clear. Asher and Chronos are now able to see the position of the creature they are looking for to complete the quest from the fairy doctor.

"Ash, but how can we kill that thing?" Chronos furrowed his brows. "I can't use my dash skill if it's not on land."

"Well, my laser beam isn't strong enough to kill this thing." Asher shook his head. "We need to pull this thing out of the water."

"Ash, I have an idea. "Chronos suddenly snapped his fingers. "I will lure the creature out of the water.

"Wait, what do you mean ...."

Chronos immediately runs away from Asher without saying what his plan is to Asher.

"Chronos, you are indeed such a careless person." Asher kept shaking his head over and over again. "Ah, I hope he doesn't do anything else clumsy."
