Chapter 26 - Chapter 26: Darker Than Black

Located in the place known as the Kuro Black Noir, was a massive infrastructure that could be seen even from afar, it was built with black stones as walls and roofs. It had multiple peaks, however, the largest of those peaks was destroyed and only half of it was still intact, it was an indication that a brutal battle occurred on that dome. That dome was the throne room of the dark lord.

The room was covered with black walls but had a floor covered with red carpet. There were countless holes on the floor due to the battle that occurred a few days ago. Standing at the far corner of the room was a black throne that was cut in half, with a person covered with black armor sitting on it. The dark lord.

The black metal door opened and a bald old man wearing a black hood entered the throne room. As he walked forward, the sun above made his shiny head reflect the bright sun. His red eyes wandered and dwelled on the ongoing construction of the damaged throne room. Sounds of hammering and many noises dominated the area.

The construction team currently mending the damages consisted of 'DARK' creatures, such as evil goblins, evil trolls, evil ogres, and evil giants... These types of beings were far different from their normal counterparts because these beings were EVIL... Very, very, evil. So evil that they had evil in their names.

The newly arrived bald man knelt before the dark lord. "My lord." He said and slowly raised his head, showing a very evil expression on his face.

The spiked helmet of the dark lord slowly faced the bald man, his eyes lit up in red, revealing a very sinister aura. "What news you have for me, my loyal servant, Ligma Gonad." The dark lord said using an overpowering baritone voice, ordering respect in every word coming out of his mouth.

Ligma slightly raised his head and stared at the eyes of his master. "The ancient dragon I sent to Satirica to obtain the Anhedonia... That useless girl was defeated before she could even reach the kingdom." Ligma said. "She was defeated by a single adventurer."

The dark lord leaned forward, his red glowing eyes dwelled at Ligma. "An ancient dragon was easily defeated? Did I hear it right?" Then, his eyes darted toward the evil minions mending the building and back to Ligma. "No seriously, the noise is preventing me from hearing it properly—can— can you please talk louder? Pretty please?"

"Of course." Ligma nodded. "Yes, my lord. However, I was watching when it happened, and I managed to analyze the capability of the one who defeated her." Ligma said louder, he even leaned forward to properly communicate his message. "I saw him fight. He can use a wide array of magic and seems quite proficient in each of them. And..." He smirked. "I sensed his magic essence through the dragon... It was very familiar... The god of luck."

"Lak's avatar... The chosen hero who Lak bestowed all of his abilities." The dark lord said and stood up. He slowly and menacingly walked down the stairs facing the massive window. "The god of luck managed to immediately send his avatar to the place where he knew I would go next. To protect the artifact—" his word was stopped when the rumbling sound of falling stones sounded from a distance. He exhaled and shook his head. "To protect the legendary artifact, the—" the rumbling from the construction became louder.

"Yes, my lord. The fact that the god of luck sent his avatar to that place just confirmed that Anhedonia is in that place." Ligma said.

"Anhedonia... Right. I was about to say that—whatever." The dark lord raised his index finger and waved it in the air. Then, he walked forward, his armor making a sinister sound in his every move. As he got closer to the window, his glowing red eyes became brighter as an indication of his very evil thoughts. "If Lak and his last hero were unable to stop me... what can his avatar do? At best, the avatar is just as powerful as Lak... But without the mastery Lak has in his ability, which he cultivated through thousands of years... The avatar is nothing."

"The best thing the avatar can do is to delay the inevitable... And it's not even a delay, the avatar is just a bump on the ground that you will crush effortlessly." Ligma said with a smile as he followed the dark lord. "Nothing can stop you now, my lord, the gods could not... what a mere human from another world—who can literally bend the very fabric of reality can do?" He put his hand on his chin. "Now that I think about it, isn't calling it luck a little bit of a stretch? Should not it be called Reality Manipulation instead—"

"Shut up."

"Oh... Alright."

"I already have the legendary artifact, Aphantasia, this artifact alone is enough to defeat the hero and the most powerful god of Earthish." The dark lord raised his hand and clenched his fist. "Once I get my hands on Anhedonia, I will conquer this world... then, the world where the avatar came from, then, another... I will overthrow every world in existence, kill all gods and rule all those worlds for eternity—can—can you all please be silent? I am having a moment here. This is supposed to be a very intense moment. Would you mind?"

Then, the entire construction stopped.

"Thank you!" The dark lord sarcastically exclaimed and exhaled. "My god, what a bunch of insensitive twats."

The dark lord stood next to the window and stared at the scenery of the vast world he was aiming to conquer.

The dark lord shook his head and cleared his throat. "There's only one missing piece left." He said and faced Ligma who was standing behind him with a very evil smile on his face. "Send Uno and Dos to Satirica, I won't personally deal with the avatar because I am unreasonably confident that he won't end up becoming an unexpected unstoppable threat that will jeopardize my goal in the future—I have stuff to do. Tell them to bring the legendary artifact to me, the Anhedonia... and also, they will receive a great reward if they bring the head of the avatar and all of his followers."

Ligma bowed, the dark lord's red eyes and the sunlight reflecting on his shiny head. "Consider it done, my lord."

Then, the construction started again.
