Chapter 63 - CH63:AT THE BASE.

While Luke and the Gifted teens struggled with their own conundrums, Huntress and Murdock were in the middle of the desert as they too got closer to the human settlement Ace, Sky, Cherry, and Chris were earlier.

However, knowing that they were aliens and would immediately be attacked, they stood back for a while and discussed over what they'd do next. Huntress wanted to barge in and slaughter as many people as possible so she'd kill her boredom but Murdock wanted to stock out the place and abduct a few people so he'd get answers out of them.

"It makes less sense for us to stay here and do nothing when there's a huge possibility that the boy could be in there."

"Huge possibility?" Murdock replied. "Do you hear yourself when you speak, Huntress? There's a slight possibility he could be in there but if we just barge in and attack, he could escape or even worse…"

"What?" She asked, having noticed his sudden pose.

"What if the girl's in there waiting for us?" He continued. "With those two working together, we might not stand a chance against them and backup won't arrive in time."

"Well, hotshot," Huntress barked, "What do you suggest we do?"

"Let's just sneak in at night and see if we can get some answers from them."

Huntress rolled her eyes, sighed heavily, and laughed as she said, "Well, Mr. Murdock. WHAT DO YOU SUGGEST ABOUT THE LANGUAGE BARRIER BETWEEN US AND THOSE HUMANS IN THERE? THE ONLY REASON THOSE TWO UNDERSTOOD US IS BECAUSE OF THOSE CHIPS IN THEIR NECKS."

Defeated by his own reasoning, Murdock sighed heavily while grabbing his large sword. He then glared at a grinning Huntress and said, "Fine, we'll do this your way."

"We're not killing them all," She smiled while stretching for a while. "We've got pictures of them so if any of them recognize who they are, we either torture them or force them to point them out to us. Sounds good?" She smiled, acting like she didn't just yell at him a few moments ago.

"Well, have we come to an agreement?" She asked one last time with a seductive but evil smile.

"Fine. We'll do it your way. We've still got a few days left so…why not."

Without waiting for his full cooperation, Huntress already grabbed her ring blade and dashed for the base. Though it was blazing hot and the desert haze was intense enough to run many crazy, the female Granian pushed through as the excitement of shading blood, whether innocent or deserving, allowed her to tap into new energy reserves.

Once she got at the entrance, she was greeted by the sight of people holding some sort of mass burial. Hundreds of people were lined up with dead bodies wrapped in white clothes laid in front of them. Some cried, others caused drama and a few forced themselves to be quiet.

"What do you think caused this?" Murdock asked after seeing the shock in Huntress's eyes.

"I don't know," Huntress replied. "You don't think the boy did it, right?" She wondered. They both looked at each other, hoping that the people they were looking for were still around. "Well, let's go in, shall we."

"Huntress, WAIT!!" Murdock tried stopping Huntress but the Granian already ran through towards the people while laughing in a crazy tone. She flashed her long teeth and sharp claws while having her ring blade in between her hips.

Those who were fortunate enough to see her coming quickly took cover, but the not so fortunate ones were soon going to join those wrapped in white clothing. Huntress drew out her blade and threw it like a boomerang towards the humans. The blade spun and dismembered bodies while spilling blood everywhere.

A few men that could still fight drew out their weapons and sent beasts to battle the alien, but she was just too fast for any of them to attacks and their reflexes were garbage against her attacks. While her blade cut those that were in its path, Huntress clawed, chocked, scratched and ripped organs out of those who felt brave enough to challenge her.

With each kill she made, the wild character in her grew larger and drove her to kill even more. It got so bad that Huntress didn't show any remorse to the little children that were so unfortunate to get caught in the middle of her massacre.

"Oh, innocent children. So sad you had to see this. Let me help you forget about it." Huntress leaped in the air and spun in the air, intending to slam the children with the scales on her tail. Just as she was about to land, she felt a powerful hand yank her into the ground and pinned her down.

Looking up, she saw Murdock holding her down with an intense frown on his face. She then looked at the children and saw them hiding behind Murdock's tail.

"Grim, Grand Master, and Lord Grania warned you about harming the children from the different civilizations we discover. We've been through this, Huntress!! Leave…the children…ALONE!!" Murdock let go of Huntress and gently led all the children into a separate building before returning to Huntress, who simply stood in shame.

At the moment, more than half of the remaining people of the base were killed, living the few to shake in fear before their attackers. Murdock, who didn't want to use such excessive methods, encountered the loud man who yelled profane words at him, not knowing that they couldn't understand anything he said.

"This one may know something." Murdock muttered to Huntress. "Show him the picture and let's get moving." Huntress did as Murdock asked and they immediately got a positive reaction.

The loud man pointed north as to say that Ace and Sky had headed in that direction. The two left the base quickly and thanks to their heightened senses, they were able to see a skyline of a city that was a few hours away from them. "Should we call this in?" Huntress asked. "We can call for backup and ask others to go in and bring them out."

"We can't," Murdock replied. "Our communicator was damaged so we have no way of communicating with the others. Let's keep moving, I'll think of something along the way."
