Chapter 5 - 5| Family

Wrong - Luh Kel

Everly's POV:

IT WAS MONDAY and I obviously had to get ready for school which is usually the most agonizing part of my day. I got out of my bed before I lazily stripped out of my clothes and trudged into the bathroom to have a very fast shower. I turned on the faucet to allow the cold water flow through first, got out of my clothes and pulled my hair into a bun so it wouldn't get wet.

I had a shower in about 10-15 minutes and got ready for my day. I noticed the light-purple bruise forming around my neck, so I used a little bit of concealer and did my best to cover it up. I pulled my hair out of the bun it was in to air dry it. I touched up the makeup around my neck and when I was satisfied with how I looked, I picked up everything I needed, shoved them in my bag and made my way out of my room. I heard noise from the kitchen, which was really weird because I knew it wasn't Beth_ if she hadn't had her coffee, she was a silent freak. So the only reasonable thing that I could think of at that moment was that we were most likely getting robbed.

I halted in my steps then picked up the closest thing to me_ which when I looked down, was a remote. I face palmed myself but kept on moving. I stupidly raised the remote in a defensive way as I walked into the kitchen, but it fell at my feet when I saw who the culprit was.

"Theo!" I screamed. I dropped everything I was holding and jumped into his open arms. I wrapped my arms and legs around my brother as I hugged him tightly. I couldn't keep the smile off my face as I giggled out of pure excitement. He stumbled back a little due to the amount of force my weight brought but he regained his balance and hugged me back.

"Ever, I've missed you," Theo's smooth voice held so much warmth and sincerity, I really missed him. He placed a small kiss on the top of my head which made me bring out a content sigh.

"When did you arrive? Why didn't you tell me you were coming? Where's_" He cut me off before I could continue bombarding him with questions.

"I think you'll have to get down from me because the position we're in isn't exactly making everyone in the room comfortable," That statement was enough to make me jump down from him faster than I thought I could. Heat pooled in my cheeks as I straightened my clothes, still not looking at anyone in the room. I picked up my things from the floor and swung my bag over my shoulder before I turned around to face the occupants of the room.

I locked eyes with Beth who had an overly smug look on her face, and that alone told me that she had something up her sleeve. And I was sure as hell that it wasn't a good thing. She flashed me an amused smile before she spoke.

"Ev, this is Hayden; and Hayden, this is Everly." She gestured to us individually as she introduced us to each other. Beth still had that smile on her face that I so badly wanted to smack off, and I had no idea why she was acting this way but realization dawned on me that this was the Hayden's that she told me had saved me. I turned to her and gave her an unbelievable look but it only seemed to further amuse her.

I turned to face Hayden as Beth started speaking again, but I tuned her out as I tried to discreetly stare at the man in front of me. From his dark brown hair that looked incredibly soft, to his green eyes that you would want to stare into forever _ and I was not exaggerating, then to the face I could bet no woman could ever say no to. He was perfection in total.

I was snapped out of my daydream by my name being called. "Oh sorry, yes?" I tried to gather my thoughts together as I spoke, praying to God that no one caught me staring at him. But the knowing smirk Beth shot me was enough to let me know she saw me, and I was right mortified at being caught.

"I said, aren't you going to introduce Hayden to Theo?" She said as she, Dylan and Theo made weird eye contact. Hayden and I seemed to be the only people in the room that couldn't decipher what was going on.

Her question seemed rather stupid because everyone had heard her introduce Hayden and I to each other and it was now very obvious that she was just doing this for fun.

I gave her a nasty look before I begrudgingly spoke. "Theo, this is Hayden; and Hayden," I gestured to Theo, "...this is Theo my_" I was cut off by an obnoxiously rude human. "Boyfriend. I'm her boyfriend." I had no idea why Theo said something like that but it was honestly childish. He had a smug look on his face as he rose his arm and rested it on my shoulders. At this point, Hayden and I were the only people in the room that didn't look like we were about to burst into a fit of laughter.

Hayden didn't say anything, just rose a perfect brow up as he looked between Theo and I.

"As much as I would love to stay here, I really have to get going, but_" I was once again cut off my my brother. The brother I so badly wanted to kill right now.

"I'll drop you off, babe. Come on," Theo said as he picked up my things then dragged me out of the house before I could say anything. As he dragged me out of the house, I gagged the whole way out by the fact that my brother called me 'babe'. I felt like throwing up.

"Why the hell would you call me 'babe'?" I asked when he had successfully pulled me out of the house.

He turned around, held me by my shoulders and looked me straight in the eye before he spoke, "Oh, you child... you miserable, delusional child, you really are oblivious aren't you?" He asked like he was talking to a five year old child. He didn't allow me to reply, he just simply walked toward the car and waited for me to unlock it.

I unlocked the car using the key as I slowly made my way to the car, still thinking about what the hell my brother meant by what he said. We both got into the car_ me at the driver's seat and Theo at the passenger's seat_ while I prepared for the hell of a ride I was about to have with my brother.
