Talk - Khalid
Everly's POV:
I ARRIVED HOME later with a smile on my face. The silence in the house was almost unsettling, seeing as how Theo and Beth were the noisiest people I knew.
I walked into the living room and saw Theo and Beth sat on the love seat speaking in hushed tones to each other —which was insane because they were the only ones at home. Obviously, I was no fool, I knew there was a heated conversation I was supposed to have with my friends, seeing as I stormed out of school without a word.
“Hey, guys,” I said tentatively. They sprang away from each other as they both turned around to face me. I could see the tears gathering in Beth’s eyes already as she got up from her spot on the couch and walked over to me, a broken expression on her face. I hated myself for being the reason she looked so… sad.
