He took her by her hand and sat her unto himself, while he took his seat on the rocker,
"so why did you come? I thought you were training with Edward." he asked,
rubbing the small of her back in soothing circles.
"We were, but we're taking a break. Actually, he's heading home."
"home?"
"yeah, he doesn't live here, remember?" she asked, looking up at him, with amusement, and then shrugged, "regardless, of Alejandro and his plans for retribution, Edward has a life he must tend to. He's decided no avenging ex will take that away from him." she finished, and suddenly took on a faraway look,
"perhaps it's a kind of thinking we all should adapt." Alex said softly, and made her turn to look at him,
"Have we then? Have we been so caught up with all the bad things that we failed to truly live?" Laylah asked him softly, and he nodded gently,
"I think we have from time to time. Sure, we take moments for ourselves, but we always find a way to come back to what comes."
