“Katia…are you sure we should’ve left those two so far behind? What’s the hurry anyway?”
“Oh, don’t worry Nadia, Keiko is a big girl. I’m sure she can more than handle herself. Besides, Liz is with her. She may not look it, but she’s not to be messed with should she get serious.”
“It’s not that I think they can’t defend themselves, but I feel guilty. Liz even seemed a bit upset.”
Katia laughs. “Your perception is forever unmatched my dear. She may be just as old as me, but she still has some maturing to do. This is on par with her normal self. She’ll be ok after a while.”
“Ok, if you say so.” Nadia finally accepts the situation. “So…why’d you want to get me alone?”
“Let’s take a little detour this way.” Katia responds by pulling her suddenly into an alley and settling into a dark corner where no one is around. She takes a look around and listens silently, as though she’s scoping out the place before she dares to speak again. “I believe we’re alone now.”
