Towards the end of the hour, the two are finishing up their exploration. “That shark was huge!”
“Indeed it was Keiko, and that’s not even the biggest one I’ve seen. Back when I came here with my dad, they had a monster of a shark on display. He literally took up the entire tank I think.”
“Are you sure you just weren’t tiny at the time? Maybe he only seemed bigger to you then?”
“No, no, I’m quite sure. He was huge. Even my dad agreed. I heard he attacked a handler soon after that though, and so he had to be put down. It’s such a shame he was punished for existing. He was following his instincts. I’m sure he didn’t want to kill him. Temptation is hard to resist.”
Keiko can tell Nadia is speaking from some kind of experience, despite remaining in high spirits. She walks over to her and wraps her arm around her waist tenderly. She briefly glances around to confirm no one is in the vicinity before resting her head against her side. “Wanna talk about it?”
