“That was a planned response. Someone from the pack killed them.” Centauri said, “I’ve examined the body of the intruder. By the time his boat reached the shore, he was already dead. We must be more careful Aster. Keep your eyes and ears open.” Aster was shocked by this revelation. Out of all the possibilities, this was least expected. His brain was bombarded with questions, but he refrained from asking.
The room went silent after this exchange of information. The only sound in the room was the soft scratching of the pen against the paper. Suddenly a faint sound reached their ears, distant yet distinct. Centauri stopped writing for a moment and lifted his head. Aster too shifted his posture. The door creaked open, and Ethan entered the room.
“Alpha! Shall we start the interrogation?” He asked still standing in the door frame. Centauri nodded in response and once again lowered his head and continued writing.
