"We have to go now,we can't stay here any longer", Dane said,"but mom and dad, they're..."I couldn't even complete my sentence before Dane cut me off,"They're going to kill us" My eyes widened,"Why would they want to kill us?",I asked in disbelief,"Why would you think that mom and dad would want to kill us?",I asked again and Dane said "I'll explain later but please we have to go now we don't have time to spare","No,I do not want an explanation later,I want it now ",I insisted and Dane had no other option than to explain,"Mom and dad have been poisoned",So they are dead?"I cut in and he replied"Worse, they'll be just like Liam ".
I still didn't understand what he was saying.Just then,dad got up,"Dane,look dad is up, let's go"Dane held me back"Isona listen we have to go now ",he didn't let go of me so I bit him and I went towards dad's direction,I was already so close to him when I noticed everything about him,his appearance had changed,he fingers were webbed,sharp and long, his eyes were red just like Liam's,his face had turned white and it was pale,it was filled with hunger and the thirst for blood and he was not even trying to hide it,I called out to him,"dad,are you(cough)",he had his hands wrapped round my neck just like Liam had done and I wasn't fighting back, I just stared at him with teary eyes,I still couldn't understand what had happened.
Just yesterday,it was my birthday and we all celebrated it.Today,we had breakfast together happily like normal then what had happened?. His hands squeezed my neck and I could feel myself losing conscious,It was not more pain than Liam had caused but I could feel it tearing me apart.
I was just about to give in when Dane pushed a dagger into Dad's stomach and he groaned, Dane took me out of there"Hurry we don't have much time left now", This time I did just as he said,I just let him take me.
We were only a few steps away from the palace's entrance doors which was only a walk away from the palace gates when I saw Ellen,she had tears in her eyes and I ran to meet her,I sought for warmth and refuge and she gave me just that,We stayed like that for a few seconds then I looked up at her,"Ellen, this is a dream,right? and we're all going to wake up and everything will be normal,right Ellen?,I said still sniffling but she didn't give an answer back ,she just stayed there patting my back ,it was supposed to calm me down but it didn't,it just made me cry the more.
It looked like Dane didn't want to interrupt but as he said,we had no time,"We have leave now,the commander's waiting for us", Ellen just nodded and lifted me up into her arms.
We were almost at the gates when we heard the sound of glass shattering,they hurried their movements,we reached the gates and Dane pushed it open.We had taken only a step outside the palace doors when mom and dad appeared. They had jumped out the windows!!!
