"His loss of consciousness was due to the pain in his head," the doctor explained. "But the unknown microorganisms in his body are working to fight off the cause of the pain."
Uncle Brown looked at the doctor with a puzzled expression. "So, does that mean he's going to be fine?" he asked.
The doctor hesitated for a moment before responding, "At this point, it is difficult to provide a definitive prognosis. Given the unknown nature of the organism in his body, It can bring relief to him but also causes him discomfort. The outcome is uncertain and dependent on various factors that are currently beyond our control or ability to predict."
"How long will he be discharged?" Uncle Brown asked.
"Unfortunately, at this time we cannot provide a definite answer. While his physical condition has completely healed, his internal organs are still adjusting to the effects of the unknown organisms, especially his brain," the doctor replied.
With that, the doctor left to attend to other patients, leaving Uncle Brown and the rest of Mark's friends and The Twins to wait anxiously for any news on his condition.
"Is he ok?" Ynna anxiously asked her uncle.
"Yes, Sweetheart, he's doing fine now. He fell asleep because of the pain, but he's alright," uncle Brown replied with a sense of comfort.
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief as Mark regained consciousness, but he still clutched his head in pain. Worry etched on his face as he searched for his mother's familiar presence.
"I want to find her," Mark said with urgency, trying to sit up on his bed.
"Don't push yourself too hard, Mark. You're still not fully recovered," Uncle Brown cautioned, trying to prevent him from getting up.
"Uncle Brown is right," Sarah said. "The doctor mentioned that your physical condition has fully recovered, but there are still some internal adjustments needed due to the strange microorganisms living in your body," she added.
"What ?" Mark replied, confused
"Right, Mark," Uncle Brown confirmed. "It's because those microorganisms are affecting your nerves, causing you to feel pain. That's why it hurts when someone touches your back."
"How is that possible? Unknown organisms living inside my body? Where did they come from?" Mark asked, clearly confused.
"Currently, Doctor said that they don't have any information about the origin of the unknown organism," Uncle Brown explained. "However, surprisingly, it seems to be aiding in your recovery," he added.
"No, Uncle, that's not true," Mark said, his frustration evident in his tone. "You're just saying that so I'll stay here and wait for updates on my mother from the authorities."
"Uncle isn't lying, Mark," Sarah interjected. "We all want to find your mom as much as you do. But the doctor said you must rest and fully recover before we can start searching again," she explained.
"We don't know exactly how these organisms could affect your internal systems," she added with concern.
Mark's eyes blazed with anger as he shoved his uncle's hand away. "What do you want me to do, Sarah? Just let my mom die there?" His voice rose with each word, the frustration, and desperation evident on his face.
The room fell silent as everyone looked on in shock. No one had ever seen Mark act this way before. His once calm and collected demeanor had been replaced by an intense determination, fueled by the unknown microorganisms coursing through his body.
"The truth is, you're all just waiting around like cowards while my mom is out there, alone and in danger," Mark continued, his tone seething with anger. "I won't stand by and watch her die. I have to find her, no matter what it takes."
With a determined look, he forcefully removed the IV catheter from his hand and started to leave the room.
(The medical device with a needle and tube used to inject I.V. (intravenous) fluids into a patient's hand is called an I.V. catheter or I.V. line)
His twin siblings, Ynna and Ywen, immediately burst into tears, their small voices calling out to him. "Kuya Mark, are you okay?" asked Ynna, her voice trembling with fear.
"Please don't leave us," cried Ywen, her tiny hands reaching out to him.
Matthew watched with concern as Mark angrily removed the IV from his hand and attempted to leave. He quickly reached out and gently held onto Mark's right hand, trying to calm him down.
"Mark, I know you're upset, but please, think about what you're doing. You're not thinking right now," Matthew said in a soothing tone.
Meanwhile, Lyrisa moved closer to the crying twins and wrapped her arms around them, trying to offer them some comfort and security.
"Let's all take a deep breath and think about this together," Matthew said softly. "We want to help your mom just as much as you do, Mark. But we have to make a plan and work together to find her safely."
Mark's anger began to subside as he looked at his twin sisters. He took a deep breath and nodded, realizing the impact his actions had on them.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset you," Mark said apologetically as he knelt in front of his siblings and took their hands in his. "I just want to save Mom, and I was feeling frustrated and scared.
Ynna and Ywen slowly stopped crying and looked up at him with tear-streaked faces. Ynna reached out and gently touched Mark's cheek, her voice trembling.
"We know, Kuya Mark," Ynna said.
"But you scared us. We don't want to lose you too." Ywen said worry tone
Mark's heart softened as he saw the fear and concern in his sisters' eyes. He pulled them into a hug, feeling their small bodies cling to him.
"I'm sorry for scaring you both," Mark said, his voice filled with remorse. "I promise I won't leave you. We're a team, and we'll find Mom together."
"Promise? "
Ynna and Ywen nodded, their faces still wet with tears. Mark wiped away their tears with the back of his hand and smiled at them, feeling a renewed sense of determination.
"We need to figure out where Mom is and who took her," Mark said, his mind racing with possibilities. "I won't rest until we have answers."
While Matthew was giving comfort to Mark's siblings, the doctor, and nurse rushed into the room to check on the commotion.
"What's going on here?" the doctor asked, surveying the scene. His eyes fell upon the fallen IV on the ground.
The doctor requested Mark to sit on his bed. Mark quickly explained what had happened and why he had removed the IV. The doctor and nurse checked his vitals and made sure he was stable before reinserting the IV
"We understand how worried you are about your mother, Mark," the doctor said. "But it's important that you take care of yourself too. Because there are strange microorganisms living inside of your body, and we'll do everything to remove it "
"I already know about it, Doc. Uncle Brown told me," Mark replied, lying down on his bed.
The doctor nodded and then asked, "What do you feel now?"
"I feel like something hot is coursing through my body and then suddenly I feel cold on my head," Mark described what he was feeling.
The doctor looked concerned. "Okay, we'll make sure to monitor those symptoms," he said. "We'll schedule a CT scan for tomorrow morning to see the changes in your body."
As the doctor and nurse left the room, everyone's thoughts turned back to Mark, wondering about the strange organism inside him.
"Uncle, how long was I unconscious in the lake?" Mark asked.
Uncle Brown looked at him with a somber expression before responding. "When I was on my way home, the authorities called me about what had happened. They told me that they had found you unconscious in the lake and that you had been senseless for two days."
"Two days?" Mark's eyes widened in shock.
"Yes, Mark," Uncle Brown replied,
"Even the doctors were surprised that you were able to survive that," Uncle Brown added. "You lost a lot of blood, and that's the reason why you were in a coma for two months."
Uncle Brown continued, "It seems that the organisms inside you are helping you to stay alive. The doctors were surprised to discover that they are also aiding in your fast recovery. They are closely monitoring you to make sure that the organisms do not cause any harm, but it's truly remarkable how they are contributing to your healing process."
After Mark had listened to the information given by his uncle, he realized that he was feeling stronger, and his mind was improving. However, he was still confused about why he couldn't recover the memories of the day his mother disappeared. He decided not to mention it to his uncle or anyone else just yet, as he wanted to keep it to himself and He wanted to figure out what was happening to him on his own.
"Thanks, Uncle. Could you all please leave me alone for a while?" Mark requested.
Uncle Brown with the twins and his friends nodded and left the room, giving Mark's request. Mark took a deep breath and closed his eyes, trying to piece together any memories of the day his mother disappeared. But no matter how hard he tried, it seemed like there was a gap in his memory.
He opened his eyes and looked around the room, noticing a small vase of flowers on the table next to his bed. The vibrant colors and sweet aroma reminded him of his mother's love for gardening. He felt a pang of sadness in his chest and closed his eyes again, tears streaming down his face.
After flooding his memories with his mother, Mark opened his eyes and began to plan his escape. He started searching for a way out and looked around the room, scanning the windows and the bathroom until he spotted a ceiling hatch. Mark grabbed a nearby chair and used it to climb up towards the hatch.
