Each of the elements circled the Ares Tree a few more times ensuring that the magick that had changed him would hold him for as long as Hekate wanted. Then they spun and darted to her each absorbing into her heart and she eased herself onto the ground. Eyeing the tree she searched the village looking for Zagryus who had crawled his way to Kate who was laying dead on the ground a puddle of blood pooled underneath her long locks. His hand was inches from her and Hekate rushed to them falling to her knees next to them.
"I told you to take her and get out of here," she snapped at Zagryus and gathered her into her arms brushing the wet hair from her face.
"I couldn't just leave you to handle him alone," Zagryus panted out, his color was coming back but he was still skin and bones and his wings didn't seem to be rejuvenating like they should.
