Kate woke to the feel of the forest floor underneath her and a pain so great in her leg she had to catch the scream in her throat. Forcing herself to keep her eyes closed she began to assess her body. Everything hurt but the main source of pain came from her broken leg. She could feel that her face had begun to swell and when she tried to take a deep breath agony filled her chest confirming that at least one of her ribs was broken. She tried to discreetly move her hands and bit back the panic she felt at the reminder of Phobos' vision when cold metal pressed into her wrists.
"It is about time you woke up, Katherine," the Crone scolded, "How could you let Deimos and Enyo capture you?"
Kate rolled her eyes inwardly, "It's not like I didn't fight back."
"But you passed out," the Maiden sounded almost whiny, "You should have let us help you."
"No," Kate said stubbornly, "I still think it's best if you save your strength for Ares."
