Kate laid still as a statue, she kept her breathing slow and even and her eyes closed lightly. She wasn't sure if she had made it back to the boat and she didn't want to jump to conclusions.
"Kate..." Zagryus' voice reached her ears when she still didn't move he chuckled, "Kate, I know you are awake, open your eyes."
Deciding it was somewhat safe, she slowly lifted one of her eyes, just enough to peek through her eyelashes. Zagryus was still sitting on the stool next to her bed, his trademark smile was still on his face but she could see the dark circles standing out under his eyes.
"Huh, I didn't know gods could get sleep circles," she said teasingly, opening her eyes and sitting up.
"I do not have sleep circles," he said getting to his feet to help her get comfortable on the bed. He adjusted pillows and blankets, tucking and fluffing where he saw fit until she finally had to hold up her hands and stop him.
