I wrote this chapter while listening to lovely by Billie Eillish. It truly brought this chapter to life... Listen to it while reading this chapter. It truly brings out the emotions Aurora felt while leaving....
hope you enjoy....
Aurora as told, lifted her right leg, swiftly, and led the way to their carriage, the carriage was held with two stallions and two coachmen who held the carriage and one footman at the back, the carriage, throughout all the lights that were there, still looked dark, due to the pitch black colour painted outside, Aurora slowly worked towards it, slowly moving towards it, her heart pounding, fear locked inside her, with her site gazing at her walking legs, moving away from the mansion, she couldn't believe it that she was finally leaving this place, with the man called Sebastian following behind her. she felt his presence behind her, with every step he followed behind.. as if she was the compass of his destination.
when she approached it, the footman opened the door for them, as soon as she felt the light coming from inside the carriage, she raised her eyes and saw the inside of the carriage, it was covered with dark red with golden candles Brighting up the insides. she took a deep breath and finally stepped in, into the carriage, ready to leave her so-called home. she sat on the seats inside, and Sebastian followed. sitting proportional to her, facing her. as soon as the carriage was closed, the coachmen hit the horses, and they slowly started moving. When she felt the carriage moving, her heart squeezed, realizing it's time. she looked at the mansion one last time before, its bright lights shining, she saw the guards slowly closing the gates of the mansion, closing the doors for her ever return. she got a glimpse of her uncle standing at the large window.
she knew it was him, based on the features she saw from that certain place, she looked at them as they descended away from the mansion, and right after she was far enough, she saw him moving, finally leaving the spot which was stuck to him, and this, pained her, he allowed her to get married at such a young age, and on top of it all, he didn't even say goodbye.. and so, just like him turning away from her, she also turned away from the mansion, away from her old life, away from being his niece, away from being called Aurora Keys.... and facing her new life as Sebastian's wife.
the carriage moved and they passed the small town, she looked around the town remembering the few times she came here with her maid while she was 15 to 16, she truly enjoyed this one place which was filled with laughter and nothing but joy.. the lights truly brought out the life of this small town, but seeing her passing the small town truly pained her, and so, bearing the pain, she looked away from the town and didn't dare to focus or pay attention to whatever that was going on outside the carriage, she knew this would just hurt her even more, and even, shed a tear.
the carriage slowly passed through the small town heading to the forests and the large three mountains standing together far from the small town they were passing, and after they passed the town, Aurora let go of her breath, which she seemed like holding on for quite a long time, since they passed that small town.
Inhaling and exhaling large amounts of air slowly as the carriage continued moving, holding back every pain and tears that were threatening to fall, she shut her eye and finally calmed down... ready to face the new game of life that is coming ahead of her..
All this time, since the moment she led the way to the carriage, without noticing, Sebastian was staring at her, without averting his gaze away from her, reading every expression of hers each time they moved. he saw pain, agony, and distress. he saw how he heard she was controlling herself from crying, from paining, from suffering, and this raised many questions in his head...
Did she fear him? did she not want to marry him? or was she not told that she was going to get married? or was she just saying that she's leaving her home and hometown? all these many questions were raised, and he seemed to have no answers to them. when they finally passed the small bright town, he saw how she inhaled and exhaled, and he knew that she was controlling her emotions. he took released a sigh and averted his gaze on the deep dark forest they were getting into, heading to his home, with no stars and the moon in the sky, the forest looked peach black with the dark clouds slowly precipitating down the forest, the lonesome forest...
the carriage moved slowly inside the dark forest as they kept moving forward. non said a word to each other since they left, for Aurora, she felt too weird and uncomfortable to talk to this man, though he was her husband, but to her, he was nothing but a stranger, the only thing he knew about this man was only his name, Sebastian. only Sebastian, she didn't even know his sur name!! her hands folded together to keep the cold away as the rain descended from the sky. the sound of the rain with the forests sounded refreshing with the quiet environment she was surrounded with.... hours passed as they travelled for quite some time now, and none said a word to the other. a long time has passed now and Sebastian was sure that she was tired by now, he didn't plan on saying anything to her til she fell a sleep eventually, but as time passes, she seems not to be falling off asleep any time now. so without further Ado, he finally spoke to her..
"Sleep"
Aurora raised her eyes and stared at him, as if she hadn't heard exactly what he said, so he repeated himself
"Sleep Aurora.. it's late in the midnight.. go to sleep. "
Aurora obediently nodded and decided to fall asleep. The carriage was long enough and had a huge space inside enough for her to lay down with folded heads and leave a little space behind... which was not enough for her legs, of course. so she lay on the seat and used her hood as her blanket and covered herself from the cold.. and after some time, she finally fell asleep..."
