Hiraeth left the market after buying all the needs he had previously jotted down on paper. The purpose of making a shopping note was to optimize the money he had which could avoid buying goods or something that was not needed. A simple thing that reminded him about his previous life.
"Mother? What are you doing here?" Hiraeth asked in surprise when he saw Irish stepped closer to him, her face looking panicked.
Hiraeth approached her while trying to carry the heavy groceries. He was lucky at the moment as he didn't meet bad boys so he didn't have to suffer any losses. At least for today.
Even though he had trained himself well for the last few times, it didn't mean he could defeat the naughty teenagers who could use magic, besides they were also in groups which it was possible that they were more than two people. By considering it, Hiraeth convinced himself to strengthen his physique immediately. If he couldn't defeat the plebeian little delinquent, then he would never be able to defeat Disher.
"I'm worried. When I got back you weren't home. I've been looking for you at the neighbors, but they don't see you. I'm worried as the sky is getting dark!" It was obvious that the woman was worried even she couldn't speak properly.
"I'm okay, mom. I just sold all the fish and bought food for us." Hiraeth showed a sizable bag of groceries. "I left the forest before midday. I kept my word."
Irish breathed a little hard, but a second later she smiled. "Let me help you."
Irish could not scold her son, because it was all her fault that she could not provide for the household, so her son, who had just recovered, had to intervene. Instead of being angry, she was ashamed of herself.
On the one hand, she was relieved her son was fine, she was worried that someone was bothering him like it used to be, whether they pushed him into the river or hit him. That was the reason she was always worried when leaving her son alone at home or didn't see him at home after work.
But at the moment, it looked like she could ease the worry. Since waking up from a long sleep, Hiraeth had become smarter and dexterous, he had also trained his body slowly and Irish noticed the progress of his son. But it didn't mean he could use magic
For this time, Irish could relieve her worries because Hiraeth was already in front of her. "How many coins did you get?" Irish asked with a smile on her face, she wanted to show that she was proud of what her son did.
"Seven gold, seven copper and twenty-six silver. But I spent it all. So I think there's only five or six left, seven copper and 2 silver."
"You have a lot of coins! You're great!"
"Of course." Hiraeth proudly puffed out his chest. It was the first time he was praised by the woman he called mother since he got consciousness, so far Irish was only worried and anxious about what Hiraeth did.
Even so, Hiraeth couldn't be angry or upset as it was a natural response that a mother had to protect her son. Especially for a weak child like him. It did require extra attention.
Hiraeth stepped into the house following his mother, then put all the groceries on the table. Hiraeth also brought out the snake he had caught, and the fish he had set aside for them. Hiraeth explained that he brought the snake to give to Owen, and Irish didn't mind.
"Take a bath while I prepare dinner."
Hiraeth immediately headed for the well behind the house. He had to clean himself up because he was very fishy at the moment. The mixture of the smell of fish and snakes that he had caught, not to mention the sweat that made his scent worse.
Hiraeth looked at the bucket he used to water his body, inside it the water was flooded. Like a pool. Hiraeth turned to the well, in which there was also water inside it.
"Hiraeth... What takes you so long?"
"I'm back now!"
Hiraeth went back into the house in a hurry. After changing clothes, Hiraeth immediately headed for the kitchen. He wanted to eat warm bread. The bread made by Irish was so tasty if consumed while it was warm. Didn't they have both in the kitchen?
Hiraeth looked at the table, there was already bread, fish and also milk. There was the remaining bread made by Irish, so the woman didn't have to make it anymore for dinner.
"Where's Owen?"Hiraeth asked while approaching her.
"He's eating."
Hiraeth looked in the direction indicated by Irish before finally sitting on one of the chairs, then began to eat heartily. He was very hungry as he missed lunch because he enjoyed selling too much. Or rather he was reluctant to leave the wares before it was sold out.
The next day, he was planning to train all day. Starting from simple exercise such as holding breath in the water, swimming, running to train his leg muscles, lifting weights to train his arm muscles, and other sports he had prepared. He would do sword practice and release mana when he was ready, of course it was not that easy, but he had to do it to reach his purpose.
Hiraeth noticed there was something strange in Irish, at first he didn't mind it but finally he was curious. Is she not happy if I earn money? Hiraeth shook his head to chase away the bad thought, then he decided to ask her.
"Mom, are you..."
"Hiraeth... Listen to me. I don't allow you to go fishing."
"What"
