Once the others were gone, and it was just me, Talia, and Trinity on the top of that mountain, the silence was broken.
"Alexio?" Trinity turned to face me, her eyes serious and determined. "Can I talk to you for a moment? In private." I looked at Talia, who was still standing in front of me protectively.
Without saying a word, Talia moved to sit on the stone I'd used as a bench earlier. She was hurting, upset, and angry about all of this. About me being her mate. I knew she hated the idea. Had known it from the moment I woke up this morning. That's why I left.
Humoring Trinity, only because I did actually fear her more than almost anyone else, I followed her to the line of trees that were behind us. The trees were thin and sparse this high up, but there were some, nonetheless.
