The next morning, Samantha woke up to the smell of breakfast cooking. She got dressed and made her way to the kitchen, where Aiden and the other members of the pack were gathered around the table.
"Morning, Samantha," Aiden said, smiling at her.
"Morning," Samantha replied, taking a seat next to him.
As they ate, Samantha couldn't help but notice the way that the other members of the pack were eyeing her. She knew that they were trying to figure her out, to uncover her secrets, but she wasn't sure if she was ready to share them.
After breakfast, Aiden pulled Samantha aside. "I need to talk to you," he said, his voice serious.
Samantha's heart skipped a beat. Was he going to ask about her past?
"I've been doing some digging," Aiden said, "and I think I might have found something that you need to see."
He led her to a room at the back of the house, where he had set up a makeshift office. On the desk was a file folder, labelled "Samantha".
"What is this?" Samantha asked, her hands shaking.
"It's everything that I could find on you," Aiden said, his eyes locking onto hers. "Your past, your family, your... condition."
Samantha felt a lump form in her throat. She had been trying so hard to forget her past, to move on from the things that had happened to her, but now it was all coming back to her.
She opened the file and started to read. As she went through the pages, she felt her heart race faster and faster. There were things in there that she had never told anyone, secrets that she had kept buried deep inside of her.
"I don't know what to do," Samantha said, tears streaming down her face. "I can't let this get out."
"You don't have to," Aiden said, taking her hand in his. "I won't let anyone hurt you, Samantha. You're a part of my pack, and we take care of our own."
Samantha looked up at him, her heart swelling with gratitude. She knew that she had found something special in this pack, in these people who had taken her in when she had nowhere else to go.
And as Aiden pulled her into a comforting embrace, Samantha felt a sense of hope that maybe, just maybe, she could start to heal from her past and move on to a brighter future.
Samantha spent the next few hours poring over the file, her mind racing with memories and emotions. She was grateful that Aiden had found this information, but she didn't know if she was ready to face her past head-on.
As she sat there, lost in thought, there was a knock at the door. Aiden answered it, and a woman walked in. She was tall and statuesque, with long blonde hair and piercing blue eyes.
"Samantha, this is my sister, Lydia," Aiden said, introducing them. "She's the one who helped me find that file."
Lydia smiled warmly at Samantha. "It's nice to finally meet you," she said.
Samantha felt a strange sense of familiarity with Lydia, even though she had never met her before. She couldn't quite put her finger on it, but something about the other woman made her feel safe.
As they sat and talked, Samantha found herself opening up to Lydia in a way that she hadn't with anyone else. Lydia listened patiently, offering words of comfort and support.
"I know it's hard, Samantha," Lydia said, taking her hand. "But you don't have to face this alone. You have us, and we'll do whatever it takes to help you."
Samantha felt tears welling up in her eyes again. She had never had people in her life who cared about her like this, who were willing to fight for her.
"Thank you," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
As the day wore on, Samantha began to feel a sense of peace settling over her. She knew that she still had a long road ahead of her, but for the first time in a long time, she felt like maybe, just maybe, she could face her past and come out the other side.
And as she curled up in bed that night, surrounded by the warmth of the pack, Samantha felt a glimmer of hope that she had never thought possible.
