The only sound heard over the pouring rain were the cries of Gu Xialing. Blood and tears mixed in the earth below her, as she clutched at her cold and still child. The three figures in front of her did not flinch at her screams.

"Heng Delun, how dare you kill your child! Do you lack a heart?" Gu Xialing screamed, but her husband did not even blink. The two women beside him laughed, while one was pulled into his embrace. Gu Xialing gasped as she heard their voices.

"Meixing, Jia'er? Why? I gave you everything!" Gu Xialing felt her body growing weaker, her strength flowing out of the gash in her side. She desperately wanted to succumb to the darkness pulling her downwards, but she stayed upright in order to face her enemies. "Where is Xuang-didi? Is he with you, the snakes?"

Gu Meixing laughed, and snapped her fingers. A beaten up and agonized young man was brought in front of Gu Xiangling and thrown to the ground. Gu Xialing gasped at the sight of her younger brother, but couldn't move to help him. His chest was barely rising and falling– both of his eyes were swollen shut, and his limbs looked like they had been broken in countless areas.

"Gu Xuang! Gu Xuang, wake up! Xuang-didi, please wake up!" Gu Xialing yelled, praying that there would be any reaction from the boy.

"Jiejie…I tried to stop them…" Gu Xuang began to cough up blood. "I'm sorry; I'm not strong enough for sister, for nephew. Jiejie, do not cry. It doesn't hurt anymore" Gu Xialing attempted to crawl to him, but Gu Xuang soon grew still like the baby she still held in her arms. Gu Xialing could not scream; instead, she bowed to the ground, sobbing.

"Pathetic. He really fought for you until his end, Gu Xialing. Now he's gone– do you feel guilty?" Gu Meixing laughed and turned into the embrace of Heng Delun, who's cold gaze switched from Gu Xialing to the corpse in her arms. He kissed Gu Meixing's hand, before moving her to stand near Gu Jia'er. He took slow strides towards Gu Xialing, stepping on Gu Xuang's body on the way. Gu Xialing felt her heart clench, her hatred growing like boiled water. When Heng Delun was directly in front of her, he squatted down to be on eye level.

"Gu Xialing, how could you ever believe I would have you as the mother of my child? Plain, ugly, dumb, a child from your womb would not be a Heng ever." He grabbed the baby from Gu Xialing's grasp; she screamed and fought, throwing her entire body at Heng Delun. Her weakened state, however, made it so that she instead fell to the ground coughing. Heng Delun took the baby, and threw it to the ground in front of Gu Xialing. She screamed in horror, in pain, as he continued to mutilate the child in front of her very eyes. For every blow to the ground Heng Delun made, Gu Xialing felt her heart breaking into more and more pieces.

"You– take her eyes out. A bitch like her doesn't deserve to see the same world as my Meixing." From the mist beyond, a man approaches Gu Xialing. She recognizes his face: Tsai Xue, the Demon Commander. She did not know the reason he was there, nor did she care. She simply stared into his eyes with the hatred of a thousand fires. Tsai Xue also crouched down to face Gu Xialing,

"You will be avenged, Gu Xialing." He had whispered in her ear. She did not have time to ponder his words; in a matter of seconds she felt an excruciating pain in her eyes. Her sight went black; Gu Xialing did not know if it was because of death, or her blindness. As she felt herself fading away, all she could do was laugh. The last face she would ever see was the strange Demon Commander's.

'Heng Delun, Gu Meixing, Gu Jia'er, I will pay back the wrong you have done to me tenfold. The Gu and Heng names will be bloodied for the rest of time!'

Lightning strikes as Gu Xialing leaves the world.
