Screaming. Painful moaning and woeful cries. Chaos. Women and children fleeing and being slayed. Idris didn't know where she was, how she had gotten there and what was going on. She tried to reach for Thunder but he wasn't there. A tiny little girl's foot was stuck beneath rubble and the top was threatening to collapse on her head. Rushing to her side, Idris tried to scoop the girl but her hand went right through her body. "Is this a dream?" she wondered. No, it felt too real. The fear and terror was thick and palpable in the air. Then she saw him at first he seemed human. Absolutely breathtaking, almost too beautiful to be true until his face morphed into a hideous wrinkled skin with rows of pointy sharp teeth, long nails and pitch black eyes. Demons. There wasn't just one but a swarm of them. Thorny roots shot up from the ground wrapping around the people and stretching until they split into half. Idris watched in horror as piles of flesh and metallic stench of blood filled the air. The demons didn't even spare the children, after all they were demons. A particular toddler lay on the ground screaming as his whole body was engulfed in ethereal flames. There was a gleeful laughter in the mids of all the chaos. It was chilling and evil it sent chills down Idris' spine. A beautiful woman, with long thick locks flowing in waves to her waist. Plump heart shaped pouty lips and black eyes... a black so deep it felt like staring into an abyss at midnight. A pointed straight nose, long eyelashes. A well endowed bosom with a generous cleavage complete with a tiny waist. Gorgeous was an understatement, she was a goddess of beauty. The screaming had ceased and deathly silence hung in the now empty village. Idris watched as the woman surveyed the scenario and froze as if staring at Idris but right through her. Idris knew she couldn't see her, but the woman was powerful enough to sense her. Luckily she left in a huff leaving Idris in the massacre. This was definitely the worst nightmare she had ever had. Suddenly her ears picked up the beating of a weak heart. Following the sound, Idris found a little boy curled up under a plank with a dead body on top. He was shivering and a big gush run along his entire back. Attempts of trying to grab the little boy were futile and Idris burst into tears as the boys life seeped right Infront of her. Sadness weighed heavily on her and she was suddenly filled with rage. So much rage she could feel it in her very veins scorching hot. She let out a deep scream and she was suddenly engulfed in flames, except it didn't burn. It felt warm and familiar. She realized it was coming from within herself. She suddenly jolted up and sprung her eyes open, only to find herself on a makeshift bed with the stranger from before cowering in the corner both fear and amazement in his eyes.
Her first instinct was to look for Thunder and she relaxed once she saw him asleep. "It's me Luka, remember me?" he asked. She tried to speak but her throat was dry and scratchy. Handing her a mug of water, "Were you having a bad dream? Was it about the Laurak? You actually burst into flames you know."
" I did? In the dream I was engulfed in flames. It was terrible; death and blood and beautiful demons? Strange dream. "
" Beautiful demons? Idris what did the demons look like in the dream? " Luka asked with wide anxious eyes.
" Oh at first they looked human but really pretty, then their faces morphed into horror like features, just a bad nightmare there are no demons. "
" What were the demons doing? Can you tell me the place in which you were? " Luka pressed.
" They were... they were killing everyone. I've never been to that place but I think the village was of herdsmen. There was lots of huge cattle and skins hang out. "
After a moment of silence, " That's the Winona village. Idris, I don't think that was a dream. It was a vision of sort. I shall send word to an old friend, it might be time to leave the forest, but first things first, you need training because clearly you're an elemental."
" A what you say?" Idris asked.
" An elemental. A person that can harness elements and equipped with special abilities. For example you heal very fast, your wounds are gone. Not even a scar left," he observed in amazement.
Feeling a little cooped up and almost starting to think Luka was keeping her hostage, Idris was elated to be outside for what Luka called her fist lesson, whatever that was. The sun felt nice against her skin and the breeze was refreshing. She itched to go for a hunt and a swim. Thunder was lazily sprawled on a rock enjoying the sun a few places away from them. "Since you don't know anything about your abilities, I want you to trust your instincts completely Idris. Just let your mind and body take over as one," said Luka. "Ready?" As soon as Idris nodded yes a huge boulder of dirt was flung in her direction. In a state of total panic, she fell on her knees and covered her head with her arms crossed and waited for the impact. Except she waited but it never came. Deciding to risk it she peeked an eye open to see what Luka was doing but a tall wall of stone had formed around her in a semi circle, a perfect barricade. As she peeked on the side to ask Luka if he did that she spotted him hurling blocks after blocks of earth , rocks and roots and vines trying to pull the walls down to no avail. The wall simply didn't budge. "That's impressive Idris and on your first try too. Now come along let's see if you can manipulate air."
"I want to go hunting. I don't have time to play your hocus pocus games Lukey!"
"It's not a game and my name's Luka. You will hunt when we're done."
"Ha! You can't tell me what to do, you hear me?! I'm leaving. Come on Thunder!" Idris said as she left in a huff. Thunder stretched with a mighty yawn and jumped off the boulder to walk alongside her. Luka watched them leave exasperated at the stubbornness of the young lady, if he could call her lady because Idris was anything but lady like. A brilliant idea suddenly occurred to him. If he wanted to train Idris, he'd have to approach it differently. He'd have to infuse training on her daily activities... like hunting... only Idris wouldn't know about it. " This might just work after all." he said to himself.
