Chereads / Xander's Revenge / Chapter 8 - She amazed me.

Chapter 8 - She amazed me.

During the lengthy ride, Xander was quiet, contributing to Sophia falling asleep.

"Xander, please come back?" Sophia begged. "Oh my goodness, why is Xander even here? Perhaps I am dreaming. Yes, without a doubt! This whole thing must be a dream!" She wonders.

"Sophia, why did you do that? Why did you hurt me?" The expression on Xander's face was one of sadness.

"Oh, God! I don't want to see you sad, my Xander!" She sheds tears.

"I truly apologize." Her heart was shattering as she spoke.

"Do you think that apologizing to me will instantly make me better?" He yelled at her. "You are a pitiful woman who will never find a good man! Because you love me above anything else! You will never find contentment in life, SOPHIAAAAA!!!"

"Sophia…" Xander gives her a gentle shake to wake her up because she was mumbling incoherently while sleeping. Sophia was taken aback when she noticed that he was gazing at her, and she realized she was still sitting in the car next to the mysterious man. It took five hours before they arrived, and it was a bit late.

"Hey, Mr. Will?" Her temper flared up. "What's the matter with that guy? He's been pausing quite a bit, which is quite strange." Her mind raced with annoyance.

"I'm sorry. Let's go." After offering another apology, he dragged her into the restaurant.

Will and Grill Restaurant!

"This is the place. The business has already begun operations, but I want some renovation to attract customers. I'm impressed with your presentation. I like the stress-relieving and soothing concept and how pleasant the atmosphere will be. That is one really fantastic suggestion!" He was pretty talkative while they were going around the restaurant. Right then, she realized he was just as much of a workaholic as she was. They were making their way upstairs when one of his staff accidentally bumped her while carrying a painting for the wall.

"Careful!" He let out a yell.

"I'm sorry, Ma'am." The man promptly expressed his regret while lowering his head.

"It's alright. I used to work like this. Bumping each other is normal. But you should be careful next time." Sophia smiled and inspected the painting. "I think it would look nicest if you put it on that wall just above the couch. It is enticing to the sight." She offered, but the man did nothing except look at her in silence.

"Haven't you heard what she said?" Mr. Will inquired, seeming disturbed.

"Please forgive me, Sir." The man walked away, but he gave Sophia one more look, and she smiled in response.

"How annoying! How can she become so connected to a man so quickly? Look how that guy glances at her, admiring her as I do!" Xander couldn't help but think while he watched them.

"Are you always like this?" He blurted out of the blue as they continued walking.

"Excuse me?" She asked. "What does he mean?" She was perplexed.

"The restaurant extension is the section that I want to renovate." He shifts the conversation away from her inquiry and changes the subject.

"I think you must change your taste in color, Mr. Will. It's too dramatic. Add some complementary tone that is easy to look at, not too bold or bright." She made the suggestion again, and he continued staring at her as usual.

"Would it be okay if I invited you into my home?" He then changes the subject again and extends an invitation.

"But, aren't I supposed to be working?" Her confusion was palpable. "What is wrong with him now?!" She gave it some more thinking.

"My place was just in the back." She caught his smile, which caused a rapid increase in the rate of her heartbeat.

"What exactly is this sensation? It's been such a long time since I've been through this." She continued thinking.

"Shall we?" He said and held her hand, which surprised her as they walked. She suddenly recalled how he kissed her and the flicks of making love with him.

"Why did you do it?" She dared to inquire about it.

"Joanna!" However, he continued to disregard her calling for someone's attention.

"Yes, sir?" The lady is running in their direction.

"Set a table for us." He commanded.

"Pardon me, Ms. Sophia. But what is it that I do to you?" He asked. Sophia was taken aback since she had assumed he was not paying attention.

"Never mind." She was feeling a little agitated. "Just like earlier, he pretended to be an innocent man." She reflected while heaving a sigh.

Sophia was walking through the hallway ahead of him without noticing it was already the pool, and it was dark that she slid, unable to balance herself.

"Sophia!" He yelled before immediately grabbing her about the waist. She couldn't help but give him a bear hug, but a split second later, she was taken aback by the sensation of his body pressing up against hers. Therefore, she gave him an abrupt shove, causing him to fall into the pool.

"Sir Will, I'm so sorry!" Sophia shouted at him, but he didn't answer, so she looked closely.

"Sir ____," She yells, worried. But to her surprise, he comes up on the water and pulls her.

"Stop it!" She tries to shove him away, but he keeps bringing her further and further into the deepest part of the pool. Because Sophia could not swim very well, she had to hang on to him even more tightly.

"Scared?!" He teases, startling her.

"I'm not!" She exerted much force on him while simultaneously sliding her hands into his grips. She drowned a bit, so he quickly grabbed to catch her.

"Careful." He pulled her closer to his face, and they stared at one another.

"Your table is ready, Sir Will." His secretary had just returned, so she had to move away.

"Oh, my God! Sir, what happened? I'll get some towels!" She's panicking and runoff.

Xander swims back while holding Sophia tighter, and as soon as the two of them reach the side of the pool, his secretary rushes over to offer them the towel.

"Cancel the table. Just get our guest something to wear and bring it into my room!" He commanded, as always.

"Yes, Sir!" She politely answered and departed once more.
