A loud screech made the ground under them tremble. The canopy bed shook so much that the screens that were fastened came down, hiding them in a warm tent.
Kui cupped his ears tightly. "Aok's pissed…" Groaning, he rolled off Guilin.
"No." Guilin grabbed his arm and hugged him close. His warm palm cupped his ears tightly. "Don't get close. You'll lose your ears," grunting, the man lowered his head.
Kui gazed up at him in shock. "What are you doing?" The man's ears were clearly bleeding. "Stop." He pushed his hand away and cupped his ear. "Are you crazy?"
Guilin simply smiled while grimacing. "I guess I am."
"Gods." He pushed the crazy person away and tumbled out of the bed. "Little Mer!"
The young mer was clutching to the side of the pool and was screeching loudly. The poor child's face had already turned red from the strain. "Stop."
He reached out and grabbed his face.
But Aok's angry eyes were still on the canopy bed.
"Aok!" He squeezed the young mer's face and turned it to face him. "Look at me. I'm unharmed… you're hurting yourself."
The young mer finally stopped screeching, a hint of blood dripping down the corner of his mouth. "You… you… didn't listen."
"I'm so sorry… I'm so sorry." He jumped into the pool and hugged the weak youngling.
To his surprise, the young mer pushed his arm away. "Don't… touch me." Saying so, the young one dove in.
"Aok," he dove in and swam up to him, but the child rolled himself up into a ball and refused to let him touch him. "I was only trying to get my brush back."
Mi Aok only heard stupid excuses. He had seen what happened just now. The stupid hybrid was on top of that bastard human. If that wasn't clue enough, what was? He really shouldn't have gotten associated with this hybrid in the first place. They have human blood running through them, after all. They are all lustful and treacherous.
"Aok." The stupid hybrid poked his back.
He shrugged and moved a bit away from him.
"Please listen to me. That brush is very important to me."
"So important that you were willing to sleep with him!" he snapped back without any control.
"No! I was not going to sleep with him!"
"Liar! I saw!" Aok glared back at him. "You think I'm an innocent child that you can lie to? I know what happened in the bed. And I know what you were doing! Don't you dare try to lie about it!"
The hybrid's expression fell. His ever-smiling lips trembled as the man held back his tears. "It… it was not like that. I would never go so low…"
"That doesn't change what I saw…" Aok felt a sharp pain in his chest recollecting that treacherous scene. Even he did not know why he felt so hurt by it.
This man was just a stranger that he had met two days ago. He shouldn't have felt anything seeing such a lewd scene. But strangely, his heart felt like it was being pierced by a dagger when he saw that.
"You are half-human, after all… no wonder you would throw away your pride and—"
The hybrid let out a whimper, and shiny pearls dripped down his face. "I only wanted to go home!… That's my only way home. I want my brush…" he sobbed, hugging his face.
Aok froze. The sharp pain in his chest intensified, seeing him sob like that. Even so, he did not wish to talk to him. He turned his back to him.
"I want to go home…" the hybrid wailed behind him.
A sense of deep anguish filled him. He cupped his ears, shielding them from his painful wails.
"I should not… I should not be feeling these feelings. What is going on… something is wrong with my body…"
