Guilin watched the beautiful creature swim off into the depths with a peculiar smile on his face. He had never heard of hybrids learning how to read and write.
He gently caressed the paper with the beautifully written name.
"Kui... just as beautiful as he is." He gently blew on it, and when the ink dried, he rolled it and carefully stored it in his clothes.
Kui Lang really reminded him of his purebred cat that he raised when he was young. The beautiful creature would scoffingly gaze his way and would only approach him when he had food with him.
"If he is like my cat, then he is attracted to this..." He gripped the perch brush in hand.
He gestured for his attendant, who was waiting in the shadows, to come close.
"Young master."
"Shh, quiet."
His attendant moved closer and leaned down to listen.
"Check the things we apprehended from the carriage. I want you to see if there are any personal belongings of the hybrid... no, Kui's, in them. Bring it here," he whispered ever so softly.
"I'll check it right away, master."
Guilin stood up and stretched his taut muscles. He had been working for a very long time now. Weirdly, being close to the mers made his usual headache disappear like magic.
He squatted close to the edge of the bath with a small smile. "Maybe they are magical creatures..." He gently caressed the surface of the water, creating small ripples.
Mermaids and mermen are said to be the most beautiful creatures in the world. Their beauty was so dangerous that many kingdoms have fallen into ruin.
"But this beauty can't be mine..."
He let out a loud sigh. If he had to choose between romance and his business, he would gladly choose his business over it.
Either way, Kui was going to be sent over to his own kind, where he would be safe and sound. But he needed to wait until the young mer could swim around to not dissatisfy the mer king.
From the looks of it, the young mer would recover in about ten or twenty days. He just needed to feed them nutritious meals to fatten them up and send them over to their kind.
Until then, he would just enjoy the beautiful sight.
With a grin, he went to his bed that he had his servant move into the bath. He stripped off his coat and his outer clothes, leaving only his inner pants on.
His attendant brought hot water and helped wipe him down.
Suddenly, he felt a piercing stare on his back. Subtly, he gazed back. A head was half-poking out of the water.
"Oh, looks like I've caught the eye of the little kitten." Grinning, he gestured for his attendant to move back and took the washcloth from him. Slowly, he started to wipe his muscles down, making sure to flex himself.
"I bet he is enjoying the view."
Well, contrary to his beliefs, Kui was not enjoying this strip show. He was only observing to see if the guy had any weaknesses.
"Why is he taking that long to wipe himself down..." he thought to himself with a frown.
That map he saw on that table was weird. When this guy goes to sleep, he had to take a good look at it.
But this cunning guy stuffed that map into his sleeves.
This was what led to this peeping situation.
"What was that map? Is he planning on kidnapping more mers? Is he going to sell us or auction us off? Shit... we have to escape."
