Early morning, Jian was woken up by the butler, who asked him to get ready for school.
Jian yawned lazily. "They did a quick job, I see." He melancholically stared out the window. "But I kind of miss my other school." He was only halfway through his training. And... he flexed and clenched his fist. "I need to make sure I train my newfound power."
But he didn't want his new family to know anything about it.
"How can I do that…" He stood up and practiced basic taekwondo poses. "What if I ask for a tutor for this? Rich kids really like hobbies, right? Will they allow me to have some?" He quickly jumped into the shower and got ready for his new school.
His new school uniform was a three-piece suit with a dark, regal green blazer and pants. The shirt was pure white, but the tie was striped red. It looked classy and very chic. It fit him perfectly.
He idly adjusted his sleeve. "How did they even get my measurements? I thought they'd give me another ill-fitting suit." He whistled softly as he exited the bathroom and headed to the dining room.
The table was deserted except for his annoying second cousin, Li Wang, who gave him an evil smirk as he entered the room. "Cousin, I bet you had a nice sleep," he said, gesturing to the chair next to him.
Jian sat down on the seat opposite him. "Yes, I did."
Li Wang smirked widely. "I heard you were a hit at the party last night. You even snagged a rich man's attention, ah." He spoke while carefully cutting into his poached egg and avocado sandwich.
Jian didn't even spare him a glance as he took the sandwich in his hand. "Is that so? What about you? I barely saw you there, cousin. Were you hiding?" He raised a brow.
Li Wang's smile waned slightly. "It was you who was hiding. I wanted to introduce so many of my friends to you. They were very, very interested, you see." He took a slow bite of a piece of the sandwich he had meticulously cut. "And cousin, you might not have been taught this, but you have to use the cutlery."
"Hmm... I bet they were. But sadly, I'm not interested in making friends." He quickly finished his sandwich. "And cousin, it tastes better with my hands." He licked the sauce off his fingertips. "See you later."
He gestured to the butler holding his school bag. The servants silently followed after him. "I want to add taekwondo, archery, and fencing classes to my schedule."
"Your schedule is already full, sir," the man said, handing him a slip.
Looking at the content made Jian's lips twitch. "Flower arranging, horticulture classes... What the fuck? There are no real classes here. It's obvious they are trying to keep me as uneducated as possible. If so..." He smiled. "Change these classes to the ones I mentioned. I want most of my schedule filled with sports classes. Self-defense-type sports."
The man looked at him silently. "Your schedule is fixed, sir."
Jian smiled back. "But I want it changed. Who must I talk to regarding this?"
"It's madam."
Just as he said that, a young lady walked up behind him in six-inch high heels. She glanced at him with a small smile. "You look good in your uniform. Much better than those rags you wore." She patted his collar.
Jian stepped back slightly out of reach. "Hi, this schedule. I would like to change it." He waved the paper in her face.
She blinked cutely. "But it's all the best and most exclusive classes."
"I know what you are trying to do, lady," he said curtly, cutting off her excuse. "I don't want to study as well. I just want to have fun. So instead of these shitty classes, add the ones I want."
Her smile twitched slightly. "What classes do you want, then?"
"Archery, taekwondo, fencing, self-defense..."
"So be it." She let out a small sigh of relief. "I'll have them arrange it immediately. Have a nice day at school."
She left with her heels clicking.
Jian sighed. "This snake pit is really annoying." He got into the car waiting for him outside.
The car drove through the garden to the main gate, but a sudden commotion made it pause.
"What is it?" He peered upfront confusedly.
By the main gate, he heard a loud curse. "Fucking bitches! Let that bitch come out! How dare he steal my child's position! Let them come out! He is the real son! He is a fake! A fucking fake!" his grandmother shouted while two guards tried to restrain her.
Bian stood beside her with tears streaming down his face.
As soon as he spotted the car waiting by the gate, he immediately rushed to the gate and clung to it. "Mister Wang. Mister Wang, please... let me talk to you alone. It's very important."
Jian laughed at this drama. He got out of the car with a small smirk.
As soon as Bian spotted his face, his pitiful expression morphed into rage momentarily and then changed to a smiling face. "Jian... brother. Please... let me talk to Dad. I just need a moment."
"Nope~ Why should I~" he said in a sing-song tone.
Bian's smile twitched. "You... brother, please don't be angry at me. I know we had our differences, but you can't do this. You never wanted this life. It's hard, and being rich is not that easy. The family might not accept you, and..."
"They accepted me well. See, they arranged a servant, a car, and even arranged my school for me." Jian walked up to him and tapped on Bian's forehead. "You dumb dumb brother. You ruined all your chances when you decided to mess with me. If you didn't bother me, I would have let you have all this. But now... I am reluctant. It's nice having a lavish life. It's easy to get used to." He gestured to the guards. "Get rid of them."
"Yes, young master." The old guard, along with three others, detained them and got them out of the way.
Jian's car drove out the gate slowly. He smiled and waved at the two who were thrown away. "Enjoy~" he mouthed at them, giggling.
"God, it's fun bullying them back."
