"The bathroom, where is your bathroom?"
The broken man on the floor tremblingly pointed to the farthest left corner.
Sighing, Jian walked over there. The bathroom was disgusting, to say the least, but it had running tap water.
Standing in front of the mirror, he peered at his reflection. A golden stain was left dripping down his face and all over his clothes. Eyes wide open, he touched the golden marks. They had solidified, turning into gold. "This is much more troublesome than I had thought…"
Something had changed in his body after he was attacked in the head a few weeks ago. His body rapidly healed, and he had enormous strength. He had also noticed that his blood had changed colors. But he failed to recognize this dangerous property.
"Fuck, if people were to find out about this, I can't have a peaceful life at all."
The two men who sought to kidnap him were amateurs, so he was able to take them on. But if someone powerful like the Wang family got to know, he would become their golden-laying goose—captured and tamed.
Jian groaned softly. "It's okay. This is not bad. It's better than dying. So what, I have gold blood? Maybe I can use it to my advantage."
Gold was still valuable in the initial two months of the alien invasion. He could definitely use it to buy supplies.
Nodding to himself, he forced himself to see the positives in this change.
Jian quickly washed the golden traces away from his face. But his uniform was unsalvageable. It was no use. He tried scrubbing and scraping, but nothing worked. It was like the gold had fused into the fibers of the clothes.
Without another option, he had to take his shirt off.
"Who has the cleanest shirt?" he said as he walked out.
The two kidnappers were still at the same spot he had left them. He peered at them both intently. The stocky man's wounds had bled all over his clothes. As for the other… the man's clothes were covered in a layer of dust and concrete debris.
"This will do." He walked over to him and stripped him clean.
The shirt, thankfully, did not stink. He quickly wore it.
The man he had stripped just now twitched slightly, as if he was on the verge of waking up.
Jian ruthlessly kicked him again, putting him back in that unconscious state.
His job there was done. It was time to deal with that wretched Bian of his. He quickly found his school bag in the corner with the contents spilled out. He packed it up and took it with him.
But as he was about to go to the door, he stopped.
He walked back to the stocky man and peered down at him.
The man, who had let out a sigh of relief, started to tremble again. "Please spare me… please…"
"I won't." He leaned down and touched the man's pockets, pulling out his wallet. He took his ID card out. "Gong Yun, nice name. Now I have your name and address." He also found a family photo in there, safely tucked into the corner. The family of three smiled happily in the photo.
Jian waved it slightly with a grin. "Cute kid."
The kidnapper's eyes widened in absolute fear. "No… no… please…"
Jian's eyes narrowed intently. "You better remember to keep your mouth shut, or I will come for you, Gong Yun. I will come for your family and your child. I will make sure you regret your choice."
He could see absolute fear in the man's eyes—fear and terror.
Jian tossed his wallet at him. "As for your friend, please relay the message I just said."
He happily walked out of the house, slightly humming. "Darn, I just sounded like a villain. I like it…"
The sky had darkened significantly by now, and seeing that he was in a remote, forested area, there were no street lights near him. He had to stumble in the dark to actually find the main roads. Thankfully, the school had made sure to put out fancy lights here.
Jian slowly cracked his neck as he walked down the road.
"That Bian… what the fuck is wrong with him? Why is he always trying to make my life a living hell? Even if he is not my brother, he must have some semblance of humanity in him, right?"
He gritted his teeth loudly. "I'm more human than him…"
The Wang family might be startled to see him all dirty and scruffy like this. Who knows? They might already be searching for him.
This thought made him pause a bit.
A nagging suspicion came to him. He quickly took his phone out of his bag and made a call to his driver.
"Young Master… is something wrong?"
Jian paused for a bit. "I'm sorry. I just called to ask you to pick me up quite early tomorrow morning."
"Oh, sure, Young Master. I'll be there at the house by 6. Is that okay?"
His suspicion had been cleared. His phone driver thinks that he is at home. That could only mean that the fucking cuckoo had entered the nest in his place.
"Thank you. Six would be good."
He cut the call and instantly lost his cool. "Fucking Bian! I made sure to add a password at the gate but not to the driver… he really took that opening, didn't he…" He kicked the pebbles in his way.
"I'll make sure he regrets what he did today…"
Jian paused for a bit. "So where do I stay tonight…"
He looked around at the tall trees with a soft sigh. Guess he would have to camp out tonight.
Right as he thought this, a bright light appeared behind him. He gazed back at the car that was driving from the distance.
"Should I just hitch a ride…? Nah, I don't trust strangers anymore."
He glared at the nearing car and started to walk away.
The car suddenly came to a stop beside him.
Jian instantly went into protective mode, glaring at the car door.
The window lowered, and a familiar face was seen inside. The man gazed at him inquisitively. "Do youngsters like to walk around all dirty in the middle of the night…? Is that a trend?"
Jian blinked at him. "…No."
"Then get in."
He had no clue why, but Jian felt a strange trust in this foreign man. He got in the car and peered at him.
"Why did your parents let you run loose? It's not safe out so late at night," the man whispered, gazing at him softly.
His pale white hair shone brightly under the passing streetlights.
Jian unblinkingly looked at him. "Can I stay at your place?"
