"I'm guessing this is going to be a usual occurrence Blake" Ocean blue hair is brushed out of Azure's eyes.
"You even brought a friend this time, how lovely". She chides at him.
"You're starting to scare me more and more, your vitality just keeps increasing. It took even less time to heal you and you had a broken jaw". Her tone carries her shock, as her eyes check over the recent medical report of the two.
"What was it, 2 hours this time? An injury like that normally takes 8 and more medical attention outside my power. But you're like a bottomless pit of vitality". She says re experiencing the mental drain Blake put on her.
"You just need someone to move along that energy and you heal fast. However that gets exhausting especially with you considering how much vitality I have to guide along to your injuries". Azure says breaking down the process.
"How do you tick?" Her crystal blue eyes gaze into his soul seeking an answer. Only to be met with a confused set of green eyes peering back at her a small spark flickers through his pupils.
"No matter I'm bound to find out eventually"
"As for your friend, he needed much more time, I think he should be waking up now, drawbacks are no joke".
"If it helps at all we did pass" Morgan strides in keeping his weight off his newly healed foot.
"One would hope considering future ventures coming up" Azure gives Blake a knowing side eye.
"We have no intention of losing". Blakes says his eyes burning with determination.
"What I like to hear". Azure's face forms a faint smile.
"Thanks for the help Azure, I did not want to be limping for weeks" Morgan says chuffed at the dissipating pain in his foot.
"That's what I'm here for" She sighs.
"Can't have you guys unable to compete, now can we"? She sends a sharp glance to Morgan.
"Still thanks Azure, it helps a lot". Blake says with a beaming smile.
"You're lucky I like you, otherwise I would not put nearly as much effort in healing you two". Azure says brushing blue strands of hair out of her eyes.
"So you wouldn't have spent the same effort on me if Blake wasn't here"? Morgan says jokingly.
"Not really no" She says flat as stone.
"Oh" Awkwardness paints his face in response.
"Any way you two it's time for you to head off. Get some rest".
"The finals are tomorrow". She says reminding the two.
"One last hurdle" Blake says, clenching his fist his determination soars through the roof.
"Indeed all the more reason not to screw it up" Azure says as her faint smile grows.
"Now hurry along, I have more than you two to take care of their bound to be more in a similar spot or worse then you". Her eyes scan through pages and pages of holo-screens as she says this.
"Thanks again Azure" The two chime in an odd unison of different tones.
"Yeah, Yeah you two better pass if you're so thankful". Azure says sending them off.
The two leave the medical floor of the exam tower, exiting through clear doors, the white of the floor they were on is finally broken up by the other colors. Stepping into the elevator, the being descended rapidly reaching the bottom floor in no time. Rain splattered against the glass of the tower, streaking raindrops down the glass.
"You two keep surprising me, I'm glad you got this far". A familiar voice enters their ears followed by scales meeting their vision, however the usual sharp pupils are nowhere to be seen, only dots remain.
"Congratulations you two, can't wait to see you in the finals" A chipper tone escapes him.
"Uh thanks I guess"? Blake says, hoping to brush by him.
"Keep going". Atlas says robotically, gesturing by grabbing at his bicep.
"What happened to him?" Morgan says, baffled.
"Probably got a one hell of a reality check, my guess at least" Blake says smirking.
"He definitely needed one". Morgan says, bursting with laughter. Leading the both of them to end up busting out laughing, shedding tears in the process.
"Looks like I'll be seeing you at the finals huh" Morgan says through his laughter, his gaze illuminates with hope of the future.
"Looks that way" A cheesy grin spreads across Blakes face.
"I'm glad I met you Blake". A soft tone escapes Morgan.
"You better not give up if it gets tough". Morgan says sending a jab into Blakes arm.
"Wouldn't dream of it" Blake says, clashing his forearm with Morgan's, both of them grinning in response.
"Be safe, I'll see you tomorrow for the finals". Morgan says, sending him off.
"Likewise" Blake says, full of optimism.
*Snap* In a flash Morgan disappears with a final image of his fingers in a peace sign, fading into the past.
Being left with just the pouring rain and his thoughts he begins to head home. Excited and hopeful. Raring to share the news with his sister.
''Last time it rained this hard all hell broke loose, now though it's as if my desires are finally being met. While I haven't made heads or tails of that experience or what it's brought, I'm thankful nonetheless''. Thoughts form into a stream of gratitude over the progression he's made. Pulling up his hood the rain crashed down on him in a comforting rhythm. A ballad before victory in a way.
For once instead of blasting by with intense speed. Blake decides to take a leisurely stroll through Boreal. Enveloping in his own thoughts as the rain continues to patter on the material of his hood.
The rain continues to pour down, puddles form in the regencrete sidewalks. The dimming sun sends reflections through the raindrops. A shimmer of light finding its way through the grey of the rain.
*Flick*
''Looks like I have about a couple days worth of cigarettes. Have to stock up after the finals, for now though this will do''. Slight irritation tries to form only to be shut down by the calm of the present moment.
*Zap* Green light sparks off the end of white cigarette. Drawing in, his serenity is elevated as the rain mixes with the lull of the smoke entering him.
"Hopefully this isn't just the calm before the storm". Exhaling smoke, his intuition rings out.
"That wouldn't jinx it would it"?
"Nah the chances are too slim for that". Chuffing away at his cigarette, he elation forms in full spin the progress he's made making him feel a deep sense of growth.
His walk continued for much longer than he thought, stopping by the convenience store and collecting his order. A swill of energy drink runs down his throat. As the old flat complex starts coming into view.
"Not much longer now until I can finally change things for us". Chugging down his energy drink determination dominates his mind.
