--- Oboro ---
There had been endless unbroken darkness, peace. A peace that was broken by vague flashes, as if he was watching the world through someone else's eyes. Flickers of feelings, thoughts.
Emotions.
He had remembered they stopped. He had just… existed. The cold dark miasma coiled around him. The blank absence of everything left him without even thoughts, just rest.
But then he had broken, a bright light had shone down washing away the darkness.
Warmth, light. Life.
They had flowed through the hole that shed light. Golden fire coiling out and banishing the darkness.
Then he saw him.
Nicklaus Hendrix.
Wreathed in golden flames he had come down from the sky, arm outstretched. Death had tried to touch him but it had no power before the might of the golden light that the boy had shed.
He had accepted the hand, and then he was free.
He felt air enter his lungs, his heart pump blood.
The miasma washed away as he was pulled into the air and that brilliant light had encompassed everything blinding him. Before he was sitting up.
Sitting on a hospital bed. Looking at the boy that had conquered death and brought him back from it. His mind and body were restored from whatever he had been made into.
Memories still flickered in his mind but they were just that. Memories, they were not him anymore.
Listening as Nick talked he barely heard the words that came out of the boy's mouth.
He was so tired.
--- Nick --
Oboro had been taken by the doctors and Nezu to be checked up. The last thing that Nick had done was added him to his proper age so he wouldn't be a kid that hung around adults. Soon he was dismissed back to the dorms. Only Nezu knew what had happened.
And Nick wanted to keep it that way.
He had read Oboro's mind, he knew where Kyudai made most of the Nomu. He would go there and take all the quirks and hopefully kill Kyudai, arguably he was almost as dangerous as All for One with his extensive knowledge.
Nick would go and kill him and take his research.
Then he would see if he could find any information on the Ice Queen.
He would take what little Shigaraki had left. That started with Kyudai and Gigantomachia.
---
Nick travelled deeper into the woods, he knew where he was going. The air around him was cold, the setting sun elongating the shadows, stretching what he saw to the horizon.
The setting sun casts waves of orange through the air.
He walked further into the forest. His footsteps were sure and steady. He knew where he was going, what his purpose was.
Crouching lower he didn't even enhance his legs, but he wanted to see how fast he could run. Feel free.
Dashing forward the world became a blur, colours mixing, closing his eyes he solely relied on the feedback of his quirk.
He could feel everything, the way the air shifted around him. Where obstacles were. His quirk was far more accurate than his vision.
And he ran, weaving between trees with unseen grace, dodging obstacles with little effort, a hair's breadth between him and things that would have been in his way.
Sliding to a stop he looked up at the sky before him. The darkness had taken over the sky, the thousands of us stars unobstructed shimmering in the night air with beauty unmatched.
It was amazing.
Cracking his neck he put his hand against the floor, feeling the stone and dirt through his palm. Grinning a bit the ground suddenly webbed with cracks before it exploded. His voice changed, to one that he had heard only a few times.
All for One.
"Come out Gigantomachia!"
The words carried through the clearing with a booming wave that shook the trees, a responding roar suddenly sounding through the forest, scattering the wildlife as a trail of destruction started to trail towards Nick.
With a victorious smirk, Nick looked up to see Gigantomachia charging towards him with a fierce roar. "MASTER!"
Just as Gigantomachia burst into the clearing Nick vanished from where he was standing. Slamming into the monster's chest with enough force that his hardened skin webbed with thousands of cracks. As soon as contact was made Gigantomachia exploded into particles.
Like last time it tried to resist, but the wave of power was too much. Nick brute forced through the resistance. The entire body of Gigantomachia becomes little more than swirling deconstructed matter.
Letting it swirl around him Nick tilted his head to the side, wondering what to do with him now. Should he just leave him dead… or… absorb him as well.
No.
He wouldn't get any use out of this brute, he already had his quirks, there was no point, but a small temptation was telling him to do it, a part of him he didn't understand. Shaking his head golden fire poured into the clearing as Nick burnt the remains of Gigantomachia to nothing.
He liked burning the remains of people, cremating them, he couldn't tell why but it felt nostalgic in a way.
As the fire rolled into the clearing turning stone to lava Nick used his fine control, not a single tree caught alight despite the flames that licked past their leaves.
Picking up the radio that Nick was around Gigantomachia's neck, something that the flames had also avoided he felt that it was still active, reporting back what was happening to Kyudai who was bound to be listening.
Turning the thing into little more than ash Nick smiled as it ran through his fingers. 'You're next,' Nick said, mocking Kyudai in his thoughts.
You're Next.
Standing up straight Nick pulled his fire back to him. The golden light went out as the darkness that was once again dominant took over the clearing once more.
One down, almost done.
---
Nick had just one thing to do before he was going to go after Kyudai.
Standing outside the Nightclub that was previously used by The Marionette he walked through the doors, the place was abandoned, even though he was disguised as Andrew he didn't think it was necessary, the place was basically empty. The only things living here were rats.
It was a shock that the person he was looking for still lived here.
Walking through a back door into a hallway he pushed the door to one of the rooms, open, one that he felt people moving in. As soon as he entered the room they started to panic. Although before any of them could act Nick's hand was already around the Neck of his target.
The others were pinned to the walls by the floor that had folded up against them.
"Sorry about all this lads, I just need something from you smokey." His tone bored as he took the quirk factor of one of the Marionette's personal guards.
The man who could become smoke.
It would be the base for the warping quirk that he was going to give to Yomi.
Smiling Nick dropped them all to the floor before he said. "Well cya." His words held joy, happy he had gotten what he was looking for, he should have taken one before but oh well.
Walking out the way he came in he released the people from the wall before he walked out of the building and back to his home, his real home. The one with his workshop.
It was almost midnight right now… he still had time.
---
Arriving in his lab below his shed, the one at home. The one that he still had things hidden and stored here. Buried deep underground.
His own unmonitored space.
Laying all the quirks from Kurogiri's warp out he took out the cloud factor and put in smoke. It took a long time, hovering before Nick was a plus alpha DNA string that was so small no one could see it, but Nick could feel it.
Making the new quirk factor took all of Nick's concentration but soon it was done, his own warping quirk. Not that he didn't want it himself, no he didn't want to have to focus on controlling and training another quirk. He would give it to Yomi however, he trusted Yomi, more than he even trusted Nezu.
Calling Yomi and Yu he asked them both to wait for him in Yomi's old clinic.
---
"So he wants to finally meet us, do you think we did something wrong?" Yu asked with some nervousness in his voice.
"Don't worry so much. The Doctor is good to us, I am sure if we have it won't be the end of all this, and I think it is just to report how we are doing. A catch up of sorts." Yomi replied as he nodded his head, "it's alright brother, settle down and relax." His voice reassuring as he looked towards his guard, someone who he had come to see as his brother.
Someone kind and gentle when he needed to be but could be highly defensive. He was amazing, he had also helped him in taking care of his son when Yomi couldn't, watching over him when he was out of something. Yu really was his brother and his first and greatest true friend.
As he was about to bring up something the walls and ceiling suddenly were covered in hundreds of eyes that looked around the room with a shaking and frantic gaze. The Doctor was here.
With both of their plague masks on they watched as the air chilled by a fraction as a plague mask formed in the air slowly followed by the swirling body of The Doctor, his raspy voice speaking out as he nodded towards Yomi and Yu.
"Greetings." He said simply as he walked further into the room. The windows sealing shut as the drapes moved to cover them, strings of flesh and bone blocking off all entrances.
Anyone else would have been deeply uncomfortable but Yomi actually felt a lot safer now that The Doctor was here. With a small bow, he asked, "What did you want us for Doctor?" His voice was curious.
"I wish to give you a quirk Yomi." His voice shattered the silence, answering the question as both Yu and Yomi recoiled in shock.
"G-give me a quirk? Sorry but is that even possible?" Yomi asked the traces of hope for something he had wanted since he was so young finally having the hope of being possible. Even if it was weak he just wanted one, he had always wanted one.
But the real reason he was so happy, was because then his son might be able to have one too. He wouldn't have to suffer like he had when he was younger.
"Yes it is, it is very possible and I wish to do so. I have use of the quirk that I plan to give you. I also want to make you stronger Yu, that is why I brought you here as well." The Doctor continued. Yu's back straightened as he was addressed.
"O-Okay, I… I have a… a con- a request though." Yomi said bowing his head clearly nervous to ask whatever it is he had planned. More so nervous to ask anything of The Doctor that had already given him so, so much.
Nodding for him to continue Yomi barely whispered out in an emotional voice. "Can you please give my son one too?" His voice almost pleading.
"Of course, I had planned to. Being quirkless in such a world is hard unless you are the child of someone powerful." The Doctor responded as he motioned for Yomi to lie down which he shakily did. It was one of the reasons that he hadn't given Eri another quirk, one he hadn't done such a thing before and didn't want to start with her encase something went wrong. But she was also the daughter of a Mafia boss, she would be fine.
"Shall we start then?" The Doctor asked as he waited for Yomi to accept. Nodding slowly Yomi felt his world go black.
---
Yu watched in shock, as soon as Yomi had nodded he exploded into threads that wove through the air. He was about to step in just out of instinct but his body froze suddenly. "Do not step forward." The words The Doctor said, piecing through the shock as he realized what he was doing. Just before he could apologize The Doctor spoke again.
"I can understand your shock, but he will be okay, I promise. I just need to focus." His words echoed through the eye-covered room. The eyes all snapped to stare at Yu with their shaking pupils casting their eerie red glow over his body. The doctor standing in shadow and darkness as the threads started to slowly assemble on the table.
Soon Yomi was laying there as he took a deep gasp. Smoke billowing from his mouth.
"How are you feeling Yomi? I have given you a basic understanding of the quirk." The Doctor asked as Yomi sat up on the table. He had taken some of Kurogiri's 'muscle memory' of using the quirk. And gave it to Yomi so that he wouldn't be starting from zero.
Looking at an object Yomi held his hand out as smoke suddenly surrounded the object and formed in his hand. As the smoke dissipated it appeared in his hand. Smiling widely tears started to roll down his cheeks. Suddenly looking to the other side of the room he exploded into smoke before condensing where he had looked.
His voice suddenly filled the room with a joyful laugh.
He had a quirk!
